721. ICARUS : development, optimization, and harmonization of innovative characterization techniques for large volumes of radioactive wasteBas Janssen, José Luis Leganés Nieto, Yevheniia Kudriashova, Lixin Qiao, Ferdinando Giordano, An Bielen, Marko Štrok, Anumaija Leskinen, Arturas Plukis, Eros Mossini, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: In the framework of the EURAD-2 partnership, the ICARUS (Innovative ChARacterization techniques for large volUmeS) work package aims at further developing, optimizing and harmonizing innovative techniques for the radiological, physical and chemical characterization of large volume of low/intermediate-level mixed waste, as it could be critical for the safe implementation of radioactive waste management programmes of the member states. Destructive Techniques (DT), Non-Destructive Techniques (NDT), and Scaling Factors (SF) will be investigated. Four use cases will be considered according to the end users’ needs: (i) enabling fast and sufficiently accurate characterization of gamma activity distribution by NDT in complex large packages, including mixed wastes as heterogeneous legacy waste; (ii) improving and simplifying NDT for determining physico-chemical properties; (iii) improving sensitivity, accuracy, and uncertainty and replacing the expensive and time-consuming radiochemical analysis of long-lived Difficult To Measure (DTM) radionuclides by DT; (iv) improving accuracy, uncertainty, and reliability of the SF approach to estimate DTM radionuclides in raw mixed waste. Specific education and training materials and opportunities will be provided to foster career advancement of young professionals and researchers. The research activities will be carried out by 29 organizations from 17 countries. 727. Joint sustainability reports (JSRs) to promote the third mission of universitiesRoberto Biloslavo, Daniel Simon Schaebs, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: Higher Education Institutions (HEI) face increasing expectations to engage in sustainability reporting despite limited resources and heterogeneous practices. This study explores how Joint Sustainability Reports (JSR), built on the EU Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for non-listed SMEs (VSME), can serve as a cooperative and digitally supported framework to enhance transparency, comparability, and efficiency while strengthening universities’ third mission of societal engagement and knowledge transfer. Qualitative interviews with six sustainability experts from German and Austrian universities of applied sciences (UAS) highlight persistent challenges such as data gaps, staffing shortages, and weak strategic anchoring. The findings show that VSME-based JSRs, through shared data collection, centralised coordination, and modular reporting, enable resource and data pooling, standardised indicators, and cross-university synergies. By making social contributions more visible and credible, JSRs reinforce accountability and advance universities’ third mission in fostering community outreach and sustainable development Ključne besede: universities, higher education institutions (HEI), sustainability reporting, CSR, ESG, joint sustainability reports (JSRs) Objavljeno v DiRROS: 28.10.2025; Ogledov: 197; Prenosov: 99

728. Homomorphisms from the Coxeter graphMarko Orel, Draženka Višnjić, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: Let $S_n(\mathbb{F}_2)$ be the set of all $n\times n$ symmetric matrices with coefficients in the binary field $\mathbb{F}_2=\{0,1\}$, and let $SGL_n(\mathbb{F}_2)$ be its subset formed by invertible matrices. Let $\widehat{\Gamma}_n$ be the graph with the vertex set $S_n(\mathbb{F}_2)$ where a pair of vertices $\{A,B\}$ form an edge if and only if $rank(A-B)=1$. Similarly, let $\Gamma_n$ be the subgraph in $\widehat{\Gamma}_n$, which is induced by the set $SGL_n(\mathbb{F}_2)$. Graph $\Gamma_n$ generalizes the well-known Coxeter graph, which is isomorphic to $\Gamma_3$. Motivated by research topics in coding theory, matrix theory, and graph theory, this paper represents the first step towards the characterization of all graph homomorphisms $\Phi: \Gamma_n\to \widehat{\Gamma}_m$ where $n,m$ are positive integers. Here, the case $n=3$ is solved. 730. Bottom trawling and environmental variables drive the biodiversity of mediterranean demersal assemblagesDavide Agnetta, Ivano Vascotto, Diego Panzeri, Igor Celić, Cosimo Solidoro, Tomaso Fortibuoni, Saša Raicevich, Simone Libralato, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: Marine ecosystems are healthy with a high degree of biodiversity. Assessing how factors affect spatial and temporal patterns of biodiversity is an essential task for the Ecosystem Based Management approach. In this work, we investigated the effect of fisheries disturbance and ocean variables in determining α- and β-diversity of Mediterranean demersal assemblages. Generalized additive mixed models were used to explain the spatio-temporal variability of diversity indices from 2014 to 2020 in three Mediterranean subregions as a function of covariates. An in-depth analysis also made it possible to decouple the effects of bottom trawling from the other covariates. The results show that several fishing activities and environmental variables influence biodiversity, but the direction of change depends on the subregion considered. Bottom trawling instead has a quasi-linear erosion effect on α- and β-diversity in all areas. Valuable commercial species and threatened rays and sharks importantly characterized the sites with low fishing impact. Results are a step towards the development of conservation and management strategies, particularly in the context of the Marine Strategy.
