| Povzetek: | Widely promoted by international organisations and national governments and their brokers, the use of research evidence from studies modelled on medicine to inform education policymaking is now common throughout Europe. Increasingly, the use of research evidence by practitioners to support school development is also advocated. Yet, the track record of this evidence movement is patchy and, even in optimal environments, practitioners have difficulty mobilising research to improve student attainment. This paper explores some of the opportunities for and barriers that prevent successful research engagement, including the nature and limitations of the evidence movement itself, before proposing a pluralist and communitarian alternative. |
