Pozicioniranje in kontrola kakovosti mamograma

Povzetek: Izhodišča. Pravilno pozicioniranje je predpogoj za zagotavljanje kakovosti mamografskih slik. Zato je pomembno, da dobro poznamo anatomijo in tehnike pozicioniranja, slikanja in razvijanja. Zaključki. Da bi dosegli optimalen prikaz tkiv, rnorarno pravilno nastaviti nosilec kasete in kompresorij ter izkoristiti premakljivost dojk, pomembna pa je tudi pravilna uporaba aparatur.Ob izvajanju mamografije moramo nujno upoštevati kriterije za kontrolo kakovosti. Pri tem nam pomaga pravilnik o pogojih, ki jih morajo izpolnjevati primarni centri za dojke v Republiki Sloveniji, ter evropske smernice. S kontrolo kakovosti bomo u Sloveniji zvišali kvaliteto in s tem prispevali k čirn zgodnejšemu odkrivanju sprememb na dojkah.

Stereotaktična biopsija - cytoguide

Povzetek: Rak dojke je v Sloveniji najpogostejši rak pri ženskah. Mamografija je pomembna pri zgodnjem odkrivanju raka v dojkah. Z mamografijo lahko odkrijemo rak dojke v zgodnjem ali celo preinvazivnem stadiju. Najzaneslivejša metoda, skatero pojasnimo naravo patološkega procesa, je odvzem tkiva in mikroskopska preiskava. Netipljive lezije, ki so vidne na mamografskih posnetkih, so dostopne stereotaktični biopsiji. Lego tumorja in mesto punkcije nam izračuna računalnik. Natančna in hitra markacija tumorja je odvisna od znanja in izkušenj inženirja radiologije: Na osnovi rezultatov citološke in (ali) histološke punkcije se operater in radiolog odločita za odstranitev tumorja. Radiolog markira tumor z žico, barvilom ali radioaktivnim izotopom.

Naše izkušnje z dnevno kontrolo razvijanja filmov

Povzetek: Izvajanje kontrole kakovosti se je na Onkološkem inštitutu začelo z letom 2000. Njen namen je bil dvigniti raven obdelave filmov in odkriti napake v obdelavi filmov še preden bi te utegnile pomembneje vplivati na kakovost mamogramov. V naslednjem sestavku je na kratko opisan postopek določitve počrnitvene krivulje in parametrov s katerimi dnevno spremljamo kakovost obdelave filmov. Priložena je tudi tabela s pomočjo katere lahko prepoznamo vzroke morebitnih sprememb in jih odpravimo.

Activation and repassivation of stainless steels in artificial brines as a function of pH

Povzetek: When planning oil wells with stainless steel components, two possible reasons for depassivation have to be considered-chemical depassivation caused by acidizing jobs and mechanical depassivation caused by various tools and hard particles. The study explores conditions causing chemical activation of investigated steels and circumstances under which repassivation occurs after activation. The main focus of the study is to determine, how quickly various steels can repassivate under different conditions and to find pH values where repassivation will occur after depassivation. The investigated steels were ferritic (martensitic or bainitic) in the cases of 13Cr, 13Cr6Ni2Mo, and 17Cr4Ni2Mo, austenitic in the case of 17Cr12Ni2Mo, and duplex (austenitic and ferritic) in the case of 22Cr5Ni3Mo. Potentiodynamic experiments were employed to obtain electrochemical properties of investigated steels, followed by immersion tests to find ultimate conditions, where the steels still retain their passivity. After obtaining this information, scratch tests were performed to study the repassivation kinetics. It was found that repassivation times are similar for nearly all investigated steels independent of their chemical composition and microstructure.

Evolution of surface functional groups and aromatic ring degradation upon treatment of polystyrene with hydroxyl radicals

Povzetek: The surface properties of hydrocarbon polymers are inadequate for numerous applications. Hence, they require alteration via functionalisation with desired functional groups. Hydroxyl groups are often preferred, since they enable appropriate polarity for the irreversible grafting of desired molecules. In this study, the surface kinetics resulting from the treatment of polystyrene with hydroxyl (OH) radicals from the gas phase was fundamentally investigated through a precisely-designed experiment. Polystyrene samples were exposed to various known fluences of OH radicals, and the evolution of surface functional groups versus the OH fluence was monitored using high-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The fluences of OH radicals varied between 1 × 1018 and 4 × 1023 m−2 in the process of finding a threshold fluence for the formation of specific groups. The surface concentration of carbonyl (C=O) groups could be measured using XPS at a fluence of approximately 5 × 1020 m−2. The C=O groups became measurable at a fluence of approximately 1.5 × 1021 m−2, and carboxyl (COOH)/ester groups at approximately 4 × 1021 m−2. As deduced from the XPS, a concentration of C=O groups at approximately 5 % occurred before the degradation of the aromatic ring. The formation of other oxygen-functional groups required opening of the aromatic ring. The results have been explained using a two-step process, considering available theories vis-a-vis initial stages in the functionalisation of PS with polar functional groups.

Optimization method based on simplex for surface area improved photocatalytic performance of ▫$g-C_3N_4$▫

Povzetek: The main objective of the present study was to increase the specific surface area (SBET) of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) prepared from dicyandiamide by effectively modifying the synthesis procedure using the Simplex optimization method. A remarkable increase in SBET was achieved in only a few steps, with the highest value of 86 m2/g. Compared to the reference material, the improved photocatalyst exhibited enhanced and unique structural, textural, optical, and electronic properties, reflected in the improved ability of the photocatalyst to degrade a variety of organic pollutants dissolved in water. By performing scavenger and spin-trapping experiments, it was confirmed that the major reactive oxygen species formed under visible-light illumination of the enhanced photocatalyst were singlet oxygen (1O2) and superoxide anion radicals (O2–•) with a purposed formation mechanism. The enhanced formation of 1O2 enabled high activity and stability of the optimized materials as well as selective response to degradation of the pharmaceutical compounds studied. By using the simple and fast Simplex optimization algorithm to determine new synthesis parameters, we obtained an improved g-C3N4 that completely degrades bisphenol A under the conditions studied.
