2. Data and data quality in mathematicsKatja Berčič, 2026, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Povzetek: Pure mathematics is often viewed, even by its practitioners, as a discipline in which data play little or no role. Data, when acknowledged at all, are often seen as a byproduct of research rather than a research product in their own right. Yet databases and datasets are increasingly central to the way mathematicians formulate conjectures, test hypotheses, and explore complex structures. Unlike empirical data, data in mathematics often consist of exact values derived from symbolic definitions or computations and commonly describe highly structured objects such as graphs, elliptic curves, or manifolds. This combination of abstraction, precision, and low redundancy poses distinctive challenges for data quality, shifting the focus away from concerns like noise and bias toward correctness, completeness, consistency, and accessibility. 7. Artificial intelligence in the educational process : the role of communication and the pitfalls of alienationDavid Kraner, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: The integration of artificial intelligence (ai) into the educational process is becoming increasingly relevant and inevitable, raising numerous questions about its impact on the quality of teaching and learning. This article discusses the advan-tages, disadvantages, and challenges faced by educators in using ai within modern learning environments. among the identified benefits are personalized learning, the explanation of complex concepts, increased student engagement, and support in preparing instructional materials. on the other hand, concerns arise regarding the accuracy of information, risks of plagiarism, dependence on technology, and the loss of interpersonal connection. Research indicates that the successful integra-tion of ai requires professional training for teachers, appropriate infrastructure, and critical reflection on ethical aspects. This article focuses on a key question: can the thoughtful use of ai contribute to improved learning outcomes without compromising the human dimension of education? Ključne besede: communication, artificial intelligence, educational process, technological tools, ethical challenges, teacher education Objavljeno v DiRROS: 23.12.2025; Ogledov: 1097; Prenosov: 351

8. Humanistic Buddhism in Thailand : practices, local patronage and challengesYue Bai, Yaoping Liu, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: Humanistic Buddhism usually implements Buddhist ideas every day to ad-vance social harmony and personal satisfaction. With an emphasis on three main aspects—individual, universal, and transcendental—and six of its features, this paper investigates the beliefs and practices, local support, and obstacles that Hu-manistic Buddhism in Thailand encounters. Using a mixed-method approach, this study gathers quantitative data using questionnaires distributed to 400 re-spondents at two sites in Thailand: the Tzu Chi foundation in Bangkok and fo Guang Shan. in-depth interviews also involved thirty respondents—religious lead-ers, community members, Buddhist scholars engaged in Humanistic Buddhism, and so forth. The results revealed that the beliefs and practices of Humanistic Buddhism were consistent with the three dimensions of the tradition. Three pri-mary challenges in the practice of Humanistic Buddhism in Thailand involved: (1) the resolution of internal conflicts, (2) the promotion of compassion in social relations, and (3) the management of existential issues. This study recommends a multifaceted approach to policy development that promotes the sustainability of humanistic Buddhist practices in Thailand to amplify the roles of Buddhist or-ganizations in community welfare and promote collaboration among Buddhist, governmental, and civil society institutions. 9. Foundations for a generic ontology for visualization : a comprehensive surveySuzana Loshkovska, Panče Panov, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: This paper surveys existing ontologies for visualization, which formally define and organize knowledge about visualization concepts, techniques, and tools. Although visualization is a mature field, the rapid growth of data complexity makes semantically rich frameworks increasingly essential for building intelligent and automated visualization systems. Current ontologies remain fragmented, heterogeneous, and inconsistent in terminology and modeling strategies, limiting their coverage and adoption. We present a systematic analysis of representative ontologies, highlighting shared themes and, most importantly, the gaps that hinder unification. These gaps provide the foundations for developing a comprehensive, generic ontology of visualization, aimed at unifying core concepts and supporting reuse across research and practice. Ključne besede: semantic modelling, visualization types, domain gaps, domain challenges, ontology Objavljeno v DiRROS: 24.10.2025; Ogledov: 790; Prenosov: 352

10. Unlocking Borders : Albanian Literature in TranslationMimoza Hasani Pllana, 2025, strokovni članek Povzetek: The article analyzes the development and challenges of Albanian literary translation within the Balkan and European contexts, emphasizing the interplay between translation practices, cultural identity, and social influences. Historically, Albanian literature faced significant barriers to international dissemination due to political isolation under the communist regime in Albania and the restrictive environment in Kosovo during the Yugoslav rule. These conditions hindered the growth of translation efforts, resulting in limited exposure of Albanian literary works to foreign audiences. The post-1990 period, following the fall of communism in Albania and the end of the Kosovo War in 1999, marked a revival of literary translation spurred on by the opening of borders, increased cultural exchange, and renewed interest in Albanian literature. Despite these advances, the field continues to face challenges, such as the shortage of translators and the linguistic complexity inherent in translating Albanian. The study employs a comparative analysis of translation practices, integrating qualitative interviews with translators of Albanian literature and examining case studies, in order to investigate how translation navigates the intersections of language, identity, and power in disseminating Albanian literature. Ključne besede: Albanian literature, literary translation, language and identity, translation challenges Objavljeno v DiRROS: 11.09.2025; Ogledov: 846; Prenosov: 293
