Na voljo sta dva načina iskanja: enostavno in napredno. Enostavno iskanje lahko zajema niz več besed iz naslova, povzetka, ključnih besed, celotnega besedila in avtorja, zaenkrat pa ne omogoča uporabe operatorjev iskanja. Napredno iskanje omogoča omejevanje števila rezultatov iskanja z vnosom iskalnih pojmov različnih kategorij v iskalna okna in uporabo logičnih operatorjev (IN, ALI ter IN NE). V rezultatih iskanja se izpišejo krajši zapisi podatkov o gradivu, ki vsebujejo različne povezave, ki omogočajo vpogled v podroben opis gradiva (povezava iz naslova) ali sprožijo novo iskanje (po avtorjih ali ključnih besedah).

Thiol-reactive or redox-active : revising a repurposing screen led to a new invalidation pipeline and identified a true noncovalent inhibitor against papain-like protease from SARS-CoV-2

Povzetek: The SARS-CoV-2 papain-like protease PLpro has multiple roles in the viral replication cycle, related to both its polypeptide cleavage function and its ability to antagonize the host immune response. Targeting the PLpro function is recognized as a promising mechanism to modulate viral replication, while supporting host immune responses. However, the development of PLpro-specific inhibitors remains challenging. Comprehensive investigations utilizing enzymatic, binding studies, and cellular assays revealed the previously reported inhibitors to act in an unspecific manner. At present, GRL-0617 and its derivatives remain the best-validated compounds with demonstrated antiviral activity in cells and in mouse models. In this study, we refer to the pitfalls of the redox sensitivity of PLpro. Using a screening-based approach to identify inhibitors of PLpro’s proteolytic activity, we made extensive efforts to validate active compounds over a range of conditions and readouts, emphasizing the need for comprehensive orthogonal data when profiling putative PLpro inhibitors. The remaining active compound, CPI-169, was shown to be a noncovalent inhibitor capable of competing with GRL-0617 in NMR-based experiments, suggesting that it occupied a similar binding site and inhibited viral replication in Vero-E6 cells, opening new design opportunities for further development as antiviral agents.

The electronic structure of 1/1 ZnMgHf and its consequences for the electronic transport of the quasicrystal

Povzetek: This paper presents a detailed density functional theory study of the 1/1 periodic approximant Zn-Mg-Hf crystal structure, which is a close analog of the F-type Bergman-type quasicrystal. Two structural models, Bergman-like and Tsai-like, are examined to investigate their energetic stability, electronic structure, and transport properties. The Tsai-like model, characterized by additional multicenter bonds, higher Madelung stability and significant charge transfer, is found to be energetically more favorable by 10.9 meV per unit cell. Fermi surface nesting features may be related to quasicrystal stabilization mechanisms. Study utilizes Electron Localization Function, non-covalent bond analysis and Maximally Localized Wannier Functions. Experimental resistivity and magnetoresistance measurements confirm metallic behavior with nontrivial scattering mechanisms and subquadratic magnetoresistance. This study emphasizes the combined role of electronic sp-d hybridization, charge transfer, and multicenter bonds in the stabilization of Zn-based periodic approximant crystals. The present findings can be extended to the quasicrystalline phase.

Pomen tranzicijske pravičnosti za spoštovanje človekovega dostojanstva v povojnih razmerah

Povzetek: Članek se osredotoča na pomen tranzicijske pravičnosti in narodne sprave za stabilizacijo demokracije v postavtoritarnih in postkonfliktnih družbah, pri čemer ima ključno vlogo uresničevanje človekovega dostojanstva. Članek poudarja, da stabilizacija demokracije zahteva odgovoren odnos do preteklosti, predvsem skozi prepoznavanje in popravo zlorab nedemokratičnih režimov. Tranzicijska pravičnost se pojavlja kot ključni mehanizem, ki ne zagotavlja zgolj pravnih sredstev za uveljavljanje odgovornosti, temveč tudi prispeva k popravi in obnovi družbenega tkiva, kar krepi realizirano dostojanstvo posameznikov, zlasti žrtev. Avtorja ugotavljata, da je uspeh tranzicijske pravičnosti pogosto omejen zaradi ideološke polarizacije, hegemonije elit in politizacije procesa, kar lahko ovira doseganje prave narodne sprave in stabilne demokracije.

Mariborska škofija in (de)nacionalizacija cerkvenega premoženja

Povzetek: Avtor na podlagi preučevanja arhivskih virov in literature obravnava izvedbo nacionalizacije po drugi svetovni vojni, s katero je bilo komunistični oblasti omogočeno, da je uničila še tisto zasebno lastnino Cerkve, ki je takratna oblast ni uspela odvzeti z agrarno reformo. Tako je bila do leta 1960 približno polovica vseh nacionaliziranih verskih objektov v Sloveniji v tedanji mariborski škofiji. Ta odstotek nacionaliziranih cerkvenih objektov je vsekakor predstavljal hud udarec omenjeni škofiji tako na pastoralnem, izobraževalnem in nenazadnje tudi na ekonomskem področju. V drugem delu članka se avtor osredotoča na analizo postopka denacionalizacije premoženja, ki je bilo v preteklosti odvzeto Mariborski nadškofiji. Obravnava predvsem proces povračila tega premoženja na primeru bogoslovnega semenišča na Vrbanski 30 v Mariboru, ki je bilo v celoti vrnjeno v last nadškofije, s čimer je bila obnovljena pravna in gospodarska podlaga te cerkvene institucije. Pri tem izpostavi tudi zgodovinski kontekst ter pravne in družbene implikacije tega pomembnega koraka.

2D materials : advances in regenerative medicine and human health sensing

Povzetek: The potential of 2D materials goes beyond the use in electronic applications, extending to regenerative medicine and noninvasive sensing. They hold great promise in these fields due to their remarkable properties, such as high surface area, electrical conductivity and modular chemistry. However, they face significant challenges related to biocompatibility, long-term safety, reproducible large-scale production and lack of standardization and clinical protocols, among others. This review presents a comprehensive overview of their application in regenerative medicine and interactions with various biological systems. We comment on the influence of their innate, but tunable properties on biological response. The chemical composition and exfoliation state of these materials also play a critical role in their bioactivity. The high sensitivity of 2D materials to humidity holds a significant promise in sensor development, which is presented here in detail. Combining them with polymer matrices can enhance the flexibility and performance of the sensors, making them suitable for wearable devices and environmental monitoring. However, challenges remain in the search for the best sensing characteristics, which can be addressed through functionalization and combining with alternative materials like metal oxide nanowires. We critically examined the key challenges (biological interactions, exposure risks, environmental changes and scalability), while assessing their potential for sustainable technologies. Despite the advancements, thorough safety assessments are needed before large-scale production and clinical deployment of 2D materials for health sensing applications.

Rewarding organisations for sustainable mobility of their employees : a multi-criteria assessment model and certification framework

Povzetek: The concept of sustainable mobility is aimed at minimising environmental impacts of transportation systems while meeting the needs of individuals and communities. This includes encouraging citizens to choose sustainable modes of transportation: walking, cycling, public transport, carpooling, and telecommuting. We present an approach at rewarding organisations that actively support the sustainable mobility of their employees, and propose a framework for awarding a sustainable mobility certificate to organisations that fulfil sustainable mobility goals and objectives. The assessment is carried out using a qualitative rule-based multi-criteria model, which considers 50 indicators. Other elements of the certification process include methods for assessing the mobility structure of employees in the organisation and its potential for improvement. In this paper, we present the main components of the proposed certification framework and illustrate its application for assessing the status of sustainable mobility of employees at a Slovenian research institute.

Room-temperature multiferroic liquids: ferroelectric and ferromagnetic order in a hybrid nanoparticle–liquid crystal system

Povzetek: Responsiveness to multiple stimuli and adaptivity are paramount for designing smart multifunctional materials. In soft, partially ordered systems, these features can often be achieved via self-assembly, allowing for the combination of diverse components in a complex nanostructured material. Here, an example of a liquid is demonstrated that simultaneously displays both ferroelectric and ferromagnetic types of order. This material is a nanostructured liquid crystalline hybrid comprising ferrimagnetic barium hexaferrite nanoplatelets suspended in a ferroelectric nematic host. Director-mediated interactions drive the self-assembly of nanoplatelets in an intricate network. Due to the coupling between the polar electric and magnetic types of order, this material demonstrates magnetically driven electric and nonlinear optical responses, as well as electrically driven magnetic response. Such multiferroic liquids are highly promising for applications in energy harvesting, nonlinear optics, and sensors.

Dynamics of proximity-induced magnetism at cobalt/molecular interfaces

Povzetek: Interfacing ferromagnetic metals with organic molecules is a versatile strategy to control key parameters in magnetic and spintronic technologies. Hybridization between the metal’s surface d orbitals and molecular p orbitals profoundly alters both the interfacial molecular layer and adjacent metal interface atomic layers, causing substantial changes in the magnetic properties of metal/molecule heterostructures. While magnetic modifications within the metallic layer are relatively well understood, the interfacial magnetism remains elusive. Using ultrafast time-resolved magneto-optical spectroscopy, we investigate the magnetic dynamics in such heterostructures and identify a distinct interfacial magnetic component that appears universal across various cobalt/molecule combinations. Our findings reveal a highly anisotropic magnetic layer localized at the interface, which has remained undetected in static measurements. This interfacial layer likely originates from strong chemical modifications in the cobalt surface induced by chemisorbed molecules. These results underscore the crucial role of molecular chemisorption in shaping interfacial magnetic properties, offering further opportunities for tuning functionalities in molecule-based spintronic devices.
