1752. Leaf mine types and associated parasitism in the invasive tree insect pest Macrosaccus Robiniella (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) : a case study from slovenia and croatiaNatalia I. Kosheleva, Dinka Matošević, Barbara Piškur, Maarten De Groot, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: Since its first documentation on the European continent in 1983, the invasive micromoth Macrosaccus robiniella (Clemens, 1859) (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) was known only for its lower-side blotch mines occupying one of the leaflet halves (common mine type, hereafter mine type 1). In 2023, in abundant populations of M. robiniella in forest areas of Slovenia and Croatia (with more than 50% of leaves damaged), we observed that, in addition to the common mine, this invasive species is capable of forming three other mine types. One (type 2) resembles the common mine type by occupying one half of a leaflet, but the mine is situated on the upper side of the leaf. The two other mine types differ from the common mine in both appearance and position on the leaflet. These include a blotch above the midrib on the upper side of the leaflet (type 3) and a narrow blotch at the edge, causing strong downward folding (type 4). The mines of types 3 and 4 resemble the damage caused by two North American black locust herbivores that are also invasive to Europe: the gracillariid Parectopa robiniella Clemens, 1863 (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) and the gall midge Obolodiplosis robiniae (Haldeman, 1847) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae), respectively. In the studied localities, the relative abundance of mine types 3 and 4 was about four times higher than that of mine type 1. The parasitism rate in these mines was 6.5 times lower compared to that in mine type 1. No statistical difference was found in the parasitism rate between mine types 3 and 4. We discuss how the leaf-mining behaviour of M. robiniella may provide an enemy-free space, conferring a survival advantage and supporting a high population density in forested areas. First record of the non-native Cnestus mutilatus (Blandford) and further findings of other Xyleborini (Curculionidae, Scolytinae) recently recorded in SloveniaTine Hauptman, Luka Capuder, Zina Devetak, Maarten De Groot, Massimo Faccoli, Barbara Piškur, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: Ambrosia beetles of the subfamily Scolytinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) have successfully invaded many parts of the world and are increasingly being introduced to new areas, primarily through international trade. The number of non-native species recorded in Slovenia is also increasing. During the national survey of quarantine species in 2024, a new non-native scolytine beetle, Cnestus mutilatus, was recorded for the first time in Slovenia. Two specimens were trapped at Radmožanci, a location in northeastern Slovenia. New data on two other species recently recorded in Slovenia, Anisandrus maiche and Xylosandrus compactus, are also presented. 1756. Sizing of a hydrogen system for green-hydrogen production by utilising surplus water accumulation in a hydropower plantDavid Jure Jovan, Boštjan Pregelj, Mihael Sekavčnik, Gregor Dolanc, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: The utilisation of surplus hydro energy can enhance the profitability of hydropower plant operation by cogeneration of green hydrogen along regular electricity production. Effective integration of the hydrogen system requires its appropriate sizing based on surplus hydro energy availability, its temporal dynamics, scheduled electricity generation, and expected hydrogen demand. The article introduces a decision-support tool designed for the optimal sizing of hydrogen systems in run-of-river hydropower plants with surplus hydropower. In contrast to conventional methods, the developed tool enables rapid configuration of key hydrogen-system components without relying on complex optimisation algorithms. Implemented in MATLAB App Designer, the tool provides a visual inspection of the entire search space, thus avoiding possible sub-optimal solutions. The tool has been tested on the case-study hydropower plant and it demonstrates the capabilities for proper sizing of a hydrogen system. The results show that the hydrogen system with 0.75-MW electrolyser and 20 m3 storage tank can generate up to 52,652 € in a rainy month and can produce up to 86 tonnes of hydrogen annually, achieving approximately 440,000 € of additional income. The tool can provide valuable insights into hydrogen system's installation profitability, to guide investment decisions in sustainable hydrogen infrastructure and can contribute to broader energy transition strategies. Ugotavlja, da je Slovensko domobranstvo z razvojem političnega in vojaškega položaja v Ljubljanski pokrajini hitro spreminjalo svojo sestavo in vojaško delovanje. Enote so tako iz defenzivnih obrambno policijskih sestavov, ki so bili v vojaških postojankah, prerastle v pretežno ofenzivne napadalne vojaške formacije hitro premičnih udarnih bataljonov. Ovira v samostojnem vojaškem delovanju enot Slovenskega domobranstva v boju proti partizanskim enotam pa je bil nadzor nemških policijskih in kasneje tudi vojaških poveljnikov. 1759. Nemčija in slovenska osamosvojitevTamara Griesser Pečar, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: Nemčija je bila glede Jugoslavije še vse do desetdnevne vojne
v Sloveniji leta 1991 zelo zadržana. Do napada jugoslovanske
vojske na Slovenijo se nemška politika ni razlikovala od tiste na
celotnem zahodu, usmerjena je bila v podporo ohranitve celovite
Jugoslavije. Nasilje, ki ga je nemška politika odločno zavračala,
pa je njeno stališče začelo spreminjati. Najprej je stavila na
skupna pogajanja, s članicami Evropske skupnosti in ZDA je
iskala rešitev iz krize. Šele od jeseni 1991 naprej pa za Nemčijo
ni pa bilo več toliko vprašljivo, ali bosta državi priznani ali ne,
temveč najti pravi trenutek za to. Nemški kancler Helmut Khol
je 27. novembra napovedal, da bo Nemčija priznala Slovenijo in
Hrvaško še pred božičem. Takrat je začela Nemčija lobirati za
to, da se ji priključijo tudi druge države ES, kljub nasprotovanju
Združenih narodov in ZDA. Na zasedanju zunanjih ministrov
16. decembra so članice ES sklenile, da bo priznanje Slovenije in
Hrvaške začelo veljati 15. januarja 1992. To je bil velik diplomatski uspeh Nemčije.

1760. Observation of electroplating in a lithium-metal battery model using magnetic resonance microscopyRok Peklar, Urška Mikac, Igor Serša, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: Accurate imaging methods are important for understanding electrodeposition phenomena in metal batteries. Among the suitable imaging methods for this task is magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which is a very powerful radiological diagnostic method. In this study, MRmicroscopy was used to image electroplating in a lithium symmetric cell, which was used as a model for a lithium-metal battery. Lithium electrodeposition in this cell was studied by sequential 3D 1H MRI of 1 M LiPF6 in EC/DMC electrolyte under different charging conditions, which resulted in different dynamics of the amount of electroplated lithium and its structure. The acquired images depicted the electrolyte distribution, so that the images of deposited lithium that did not give a detectable signal corresponded to the negatives of these images. With this indirect MRI, phenomena such as the transition from a mossy to a dendritic structure at Sand’s time, the growth of whiskers, the growth of dendrites with arborescent structure, the formation of dead lithium, and the formation of gas due to electrolyte decomposition were observed. In addition, the effect of charge and discharge cycles on electrodeposition was also studied. It was found that it is difficult to correctly predict the occurrence of these phenomena based on charging conditions alone, as seemingly identical conditions resulted in different results.
