Napredno iskanje omogoča omejevanje števila rezultatov iskanja z vnosom iskalnih pojmov različnih kategorij v iskalna okna in uporabo logičnih operatorjev (IN, ALI ter IN NE).

Povzetek: Aims: To estimate the participation in, and the comparative effectiveness of, short-term residential and comprehensive outpatient cardiac rehabilitation (CR), after the latter was introduced in Slovenia by establishing dedicated regional CR centers. Methods: We extracted and analyzed data on all patients hospitalized for myocardial infarction in Slovenia (n = 15,639), focusing on CR participation – either comprehensive outpatient (introduced in 2017) or short-term residential (available throughout the study period 2015–2021). Impact on nation-wide CR participation rates was assessed by interrupted time series analysis; impact on patient-level outcomes (all-cause mortality and cardiovascular hospitalizations) was assessed using Kaplan Meier estimators and ‘doubly robust’ Cox regression with propensity score-derived inverse probability of treatment weighting. Results: Of the 11,815 eligible patients (event-free after 180-day landmark), 3819 (32.3%) attended CR. Nation-wide CR participation rates increased both in level (9.7%, 95% CI 6.3–3.1) and in trend (0.41% per month, 95% CI 0.22–0.60) after outpatient CR was introduced in 2017. After propensity score-based adjustment, participation in either CR was associated with lower event rates (12.8%, 17.2%, and 21.0% at 3-year follow-up for outpatient, residential, and no CR, respectively; p < 0.001). Risk reductions were significant for composite outcomes (outpatient: HR 0.58, 95% CI 0.47–0.70; residential: HR 0.79, 95% CI 0.68–0.93) and all-cause mortality (outpatient: HR 0.56, 95% CI 0.38–0.83; residential: HR 0.59, 95% CI 0.45–0.77), whereas the risk reduction for cardiovascular hospitalizations was only significant for outpatient CR (HR 0.60, 95% CI 0.48–0.74). The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio per life-year gained was €6421 and €7381 for outpatient and residential CR, respectively. Conclusions: Participation in either CR improves outcomes after myocardial infarction, but comprehensive outpatient CR conveys superior risk reductions, primarily through reduced cardiovascular hospitalizations.

Spectral properties of Levy Rosenzweig-Porter model via supersymmetric approach
Elizaveta Safonova, Mikhail V. Feigel’man, Vladimir Kravtsov, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek

Povzetek: By using the Efetov's super-symmetric formalism we computed analytically the mean spectral density ρ (E) for the Lévy and the Lévy -Rosenzweig-Porter random matrices which off-diagonal elements are strongly non-Gaussian with power-law tails. This makes the standard Hubbard-Stratonovich transformation inapplicable to such problems. We used, instead, the functional Hubbard-Stratonovich transformation which allowed to solve the problem analytically for large sizes of matrices. We show that ρ (E) depends crucially on the control parameter that drives the system through the transition between the ergodic and the fractal phases and it can be used as an order parameter.

Association of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and inflammation status with survival outcome in patients with high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma
Simona Miceska, Cvetka Grašič-Kuhar, Snježana Frković-Grazio, Erik Škof, Praveen Krishnamoorthy, Dineo Khabele, Veronika Kloboves-Prevodnik, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek

Povzetek: In this study, we investigated the association between tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), inflammation status, and progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with primary high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSC). We assessed the percentages of different intraepithelial and stromal TIL subtypes using both manual and digital methods, following established recommendations for TIL assessment. In addition, we evaluated inflammation status through several immune scores, including the pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV). Our results suggest that stromal CD3+ and CD8+ TILs, as well as PIV, may serve as potential prognostic indicators in HGSC, as they remained potential independent markers in multivariate analysis.

Expression of inducible damage-associated molecular patterns after interleukin-12 gene electrotransfer in mouse melanoma and colorectal cell lines
Ajda Medved, Maša Omerzel, Tanja Jesenko, Simon Buček, Gregor Serša, Maja Čemažar, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek

Povzetek: Interleukin-12 (IL-12) has demonstrated potent antitumor effects by activating natural killer (NK) and T cells, but its systemic administration poses challenges due to toxicity. This study investigated gene electrotransfer (GET) as a localized delivery method for IL-12 plasmids in B16F10 and CT26 tumor cells and its effect on the expression of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) and several cytokines. We observed the activation of cytosolic sensors and cytokine production, with the expression of IL-6 and TNF-α upregulated only after IL-12 GET, suggesting the involvement of inducible damage-associated molecular patterns (iDAMPs) in the immune response to IL-12 gene therapy. These findings highlight the multifaceted immune activation triggered by GET, offering insights for improving IL-12-based cancer therapies.

Patients’ daily reporting of symptoms via mobile application reveals a significant difference between patients’ perceptions and doctors’ interpretations
Cvetka Grašič-Kuhar, Nina Privšek, Marjetka Sraka, Ema Grašič, Timotej Kovač, Matjaž Kukar, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek

Povzetek: Electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs) are gaining importance. The aim of this study was to investigate the difference in the reporting of symptoms between patients via mobile application (m-app) and doctor assessments. Additionally, usability and satisfaction with the use of the m-app were assessed. Methods: In this single-center prospective cohort study, we analyzed ePROs in 46 patients receiving (neo)adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer. Patients recorded the occurrence and intensity of symptoms via the Android-based m-app daily. Three-monthly, patients completed validated quality of life questionnaires (EORTC C30 and BR23). For the 10 most common symptoms reported by patients, we compared the frequencies and grades between patients and doctors. Additionally, we compared daily symptom reports with questionnaire results. Finally, the usefulness of and level of satisfaction with the m-app by patients and doctors were evaluated. Results: During the study, patients recorded almost twice as many different symptoms through the m-app as doctors did in the electronic health records (75 vs 49). Symptoms were described by patients as mild (67%), moderate (30%), or severe (3%). The frequency and intensity of symptoms reported by patients were significantly higher than those reported by doctors (p<0.001). Fatigue, insomnia and dry mouth were the three main symptoms reported in more than 75% of patients, but insomnia and dry mouth were also the symptoms most often underreported by doctors. After three months of chemotherapy, QoL assessments revealed worsening of physical, social, cognitive and role functioning, increased fatigue, systemic therapy side effects, and dyspnea but a reduction in arm and shoulder problems. Patients and doctors rated the m-app with an overall score of 4.5 out of 5 (IQR 1.0). Patients expressed high levels of satisfaction with and usability of the m-app. In contrast, doctors were somewhat reluctant to perceive ePROs as an additional burden with patient management. Conclusion: This study revealed a significant discrepancy between patients’ daily symptom reports via the m-app and doctors’ assessments, indicating that healthcare professionals may not fully capture patients’ experiences. This underscores the importance of integrating PROs to accurately evaluate patients’ conditions. Our m-app serves as a promising tool for reporting and managing side effects during systemic treatment of breast cancer.
