Title:Dataset for the conference paper Evaluation of the performance of clay-based bricks with the addition of co-combustion ash

Description: This dataset contains the particle size distribution (PSD) of ash and clay mixes was measured by laser diffraction granulometry using a Sync+FlowSync laser particle size analyzer (Microtrack MRB) in wet dispersion measurement mode. The dispersion medium for the ash was isopropanol, while the clays were analyzed in distilled water with the addition of a dispersant. The ash was sieved to a particle size of less than 0.25 mm for this measurement. The data are linked to Figure 1 in the article. This dataset also contains the original results of XRD analysis of the raw materials (ash and clay mixes). The measurements were performed using a PANalytical Empyrean X-ray diffractometer with CuKα radiation (wavelength CuKα1 1.54 Å). Each sample was measured from 2θ = 4° to 70° with an increment of 0.0130°, the X–ray tube was operated at 45 kV and 40 mA. The data is linked to Figure 2 in the article. The dataset also includes original XRF measurements for the raw materials (ash and clay mixes) on melted discs, linked to Table 2 and original data for the firing in gradient kiln accompanied by water absorption and shrinkage of the specimens, fired at various temperatures (linked to Figure 3). The dataset further includes the original results of the ceramic-technological tests of bricks after drying and firing at 950 °C (linked to Table 3).

Abstract:The dataset supports the data in the tables and figures in the conference article Evaluation of the performance of clay-based bricks with the addition of co-combustion ash (doi: https://doi.org/10.18690/um.fkkt.1.2025.15). It contains the particle size distribution (PSD) measurements, the original data of the XRD analyses, the original results of the XRF measurements, the original results of the water absorption and shrinkage of the samples, fired in gradient kiln as well as the original results of the ceramic-technological tests of bricks after drying and firing at 950 °C.
