Towards the development of a landslide activity map in SloveniaMateja Jemec Auflič, Krištof Oštir, Tanja Grabrijan, Matjaž Ivačič, Tina Peternel, Ela Šegina, 2024, original scientific article Abstract: To create the landslide activity map, we implemented and tested the procedure to fully utilise the 6-day repeatability of the Sentinel-1 constellation in three pilot areas in Slovenia for the observation period from 2017 to 2021. The interferometric processing of the Sentinel-1 images was carried out with ENVI SARScape, while the interpretation of the persistent scatterers InSAR data was done in three steps. In the first step, a preliminary interpretation of the landslide areas was performed by integrating the PS InSAR data into a GIS environment with information that could be relevant to explain the movement patterns of the PS InSAR points. In the second step, a field validation was performed to check the PS InSAR in the field and record the potential damage to the objects indicating the slope mass movements. In the third step, the deformations were identified, and areas of significant movement were determined, consisting of clusters of at least 3 persistent scatterers (PS) with a maximum spacing of 10 m. The landslide activity map was created based on the landslide areas categorised into four classes based on the geotechnical analyses, yearly velocity data obtained by PS InSAR, and validation of annual velocity data obtained by in-situ and GNSS monitoring and field observation. A total of 21 polygons with different landslide activities were identified in three study areas. The overall methodology will help stakeholders in the early mapping and monitoring of landslides to increase the urban resilience.

2. Development and preliminary validation of the scale of factors which influence decision-making of the elderly to take part in physical exercise programsTatjana Tomažič, Bojana Filej, Nadja Plazar, 2023, original scientific article Abstract: Regular physical activity and exercise are beneficial for both physical and mental health. However, in the elderly, the level of physical activity they partake in is consist-ently inadequate. Recognizing the need to enhance the participation of the elderly in organized physical exercise and understanding the factors which influence their deci-sion-making becomes pivotal. The purpose of this study was to develop a measurement instrument, specifically a scale, to identify these factors and evaluate its psychometric properties. First, the statements were formulated, which was followed by content as-sessment by a panel of experts. In the process of scale validation, its internal consist-ency, stability, correlations between the variables, and factor structure were also evalu-ated. The scale was tested on a sample of 1777 participants engaged in guided physical exercise at the School of Health Association (društvo Šola zdravja), all aged 60 years or more. Theexploratory factor analysis yielded a four-factor model with 27 state-ments which explained 42.9% of variability. The results indicated weak, but statistically significant correlations between the factors and an acceptable level of internal consist-ency and stability of the entire scale. This scale, developed to establish the factors that influence the decision-making of the elderly to take part in organized physical exercise, represents a valid and reliable measurement instrument, which can be beneficial in the planning and promotion of organized physical exercise programs for the elderly.

3. Researching "on and in" global south countries : southeast AsiaMohammed Ilyas, 2022, original scientific article Abstract: Over the last decade, there has been an increasing awareness that colonialism continues through various overlapping iterations of coloniality, such as politics, economics, security and academia. Academics from global north countries and global south countries have highlighted and called for the dismantling of coloni-ality in its various iterations. Perhaps the most vocal decolonising calls have come from global north academics wanting to decolonise global north academia in the form of epistemic decolonisation. As such, in this article, I call on global north academics researching 'on and in' global south countries to employ decolonial me-thodologies to avoid inadvertently reinforcing coloniality. By utilising autoethnography and critical decolonial reflexivity, I offer ways for global north academics researching on or in global south countries to guard against reinforcing coloniality during their research.
