Pojavi se zaradi ohlapnosti tkiv supraglotisa, ki tvorijo dinamično zaporo pri vdihu. Stridor nastane kmalu po rojstvu, pri večini otrok pa sčasoma spontano izzveni. Diagnozo laringomalacije postavi pediater, potrdi pa jo otorinolaringolog s fleksibilno laringoskopijo. Pri blagih in zmernih primerih laringomalacije se priporoča redno spremljanje in konzervativno zdravljenje s protirefluksno terapijo in prilagoditvami pri hranjenju. Pri hudi obliki laringomalacije je potrebna bolnišnična obravnava, saj je potrebno kirurško zdravljenje s supraglotoplastiko, ki jo opravi otorinolaringolog. Title:	Laryngomalacia : otorhinolaryngological management and surgical treatment
Abstract:	Laryngomalacia is a congenital upper airway condition and the leading cause of congenital inspiratory stridor. It is caused by the laxity of the supraglottic tissues. While stridor is often evident soon after birth, in most children it typically im-proves on its own. Laryngomalacia is initially diagnosed by a pediatrician, with confirmation using flexible laryngoscopy performed by an otolaryngologist. Mild to moderate forms are managed conservatively, with anti-reflux therapy, feed-ing modifications, and regular follow-up. In more severe cases, surgical intervention such as supraglottoplasty may be necessary.
