| Abstract: | The article presents the challenges and experiences related to working in the depot of the Historical Archives in Zaječar, focusing on current storage capacities and the integration of modern technologies into the workflow. In addition to describing the current state of the archival depot and the possibilities for expanding storage capacity, it provides an analysis of advantages and disadvantages of different types of archival shelves used in the depot. The article also explores how archivists in Zaječar utilize the "Arhis" information system to improve the efficiency of archival material searches. Although based on the operations of the Historical Archives in Zaječar, discussions in the article offer insights applicable to many archival institutions facing the challenge of balancing existing working conditions with the need for modernization. |
