| Abstract: | A single male specimen of Priacanthus hamrur (Fabricius, 1775) was caught by hook and line at a depth of 35 m in Mersin Bay (Taşucu, Turkey) in February 2024. This is the second record from Turkish waters and the first from Mersin Bay (northeastern Mediterranean coast of Turkey). The finding of a male specimen may suggest successful adaptation and potential establishment of a population in the near future. Also, available records may indicate that the species has migrated westward in the Mediterranean waters of Turkey. |
