Abstract:Besedilo obravnava Sergeja Tretjakova in sovjetsko faktografijo kot radikalen poskus preoblikovanja razmerja med umetnostjo, dejstvom in družbo.

Title:Biography of the Fact : Sergei Tretyakov and Soviet Factography
Abstract:The text examines Sergei Tretyakov and Soviet factography as a radical attempt to rethink the relationship between art, fact, and society. Rather than treating photography, literature, and montage as autonomous aesthetic forms, it emphasizes their operative, propagandistic, and socially constructive functions. Tretyakov understands factography as a practice of producing facts that are never neutral, but act within political, productive, and receptive relations. The essay shows that techniques such as photomontage, photographic series, reportage, and documentary form emerged in close connection with modernization, mass media, and the ideological struggles of the twentieth century.
Keywords:factography, Soviet avant-garde, constructivism, documentary photography, visual culture, art, politics
