Abstract:Cilj študije je bil izdelati oceno vezave ogljika v tla Slovenije po štirih scenarijih upravljanja – obdelave kmetijskih tal naslednjih 20 letih (obdobje 2020 – 2040).

Title:Soil organic carbon sequestration map of Slovenia
Abstract:The aim of the study was to estimate the potential of carbon sequestration in the soils of Slovenia according to four scenarios of agricultural soil management in the next 20 years (period 2020 - 2040). We developed the Slovenian GIS process for creating a map of organic carbon sequestration potential in Slovenian agricultural soils with respect to different types of tillage and land use in Slovenia. We adapted the FAO RothC model and used available national data, which are generally of greater spatial and content accuracy than data collected globally. The result of this task are spatial grid layers with a resolution of 30 arcseconds in the WGS84 coordinate system and include grids of absolute average annual carbon sequestration rates, average relative carbon sequestration rates, estimates of uncertainty in the average annual forecast of soil carbon sequestration (absolute and relative) for a 20-year period (t C ha-1 year -1) for four tillage scenarios: a) 'as usual' (BAU) tillage, and b) for three levels of adjusted 'sustainable tillage' 1-3; SSM1, SSM2, SSM3).The aim of the study was to estimate the potential of carbon sequestration in the soils of Slovenia according to four scenarios of agricultural soil management in the next 20 years (period 2020 - 2040).
