Abstract:The iodination of heterocyclic compounds has significant interest in synthetic organic chemistry, as it provides versatile and efficient pathways for the synthesis of a wide range of biologically active molecules. This review aims to highlight recent advances in the iodination of heterocyclic compounds using elemental iodine or iodide-based reagents, covering developments reported over the past 17 years.
