Abstract:Čeprav se Zahod2 pogosto predstavlja kot nosilec liberalnih vrednot in človekovih pravic, njegove migracijske in mejne politike sistematično izključujejo ali marginalizirajo begunce_ke, še posebej kvir begunce_ke, ki ostajajo nevidni v prevladujočih migracijskih diskurzih. Prispevek analizira vpliv homonacionalističnih diskurzov in birokratskih praks na dostop do azila ter pokaže, kako so za »zaslužne« prepoznane zgolj tiste kvir identitete, ki se ujemajo z zahodnimi spolnimi normativi. Ti postopki, utemeljeni na esencialističnih predstavah spolnosti in identitete, vodijo v sistematično izključevanje ter reprodukcijo neenakosti. Kot pregledni prispevek članek izpostavi, da je treba preseči nacionalizirane in normativne modele spolnosti ter utemeljiti transnacionalne in vključujoče oblike solidarnosti in politik spolnih pravic.

Title:Queer Asylum and the Politics of Homonationalism
Abstract:Although the West1 often presents itself as the bearer of liberal values and human rights, its migration and border policies systematically exclude or marginalize refugees, especially queer refugees, who remain invisible in mainstream migration discourses. This article analyses the impact of homonationalist discourses and bureaucratic practices on access to asylum and shows how only those queer identities that conform to Western gender norms are recognized as “deserving.” These procedures, based on essentialist notions of sexuality and identity, lead to systematic exclusion and the reproduction of inequality. As a review paper, the article concludes with the finding that it is necessary to move beyond nationalized and normative models of sexuality and to establish transnational and inclusive forms of solidarity and politics of sexual rights.
