Abstract:Trajnostna potrošnja je sestavni del trajnostnega razvoja ter pomemben faktor v izboljšanju trenutnega stanja in zaustavitvi nadaljnje škode, ki jo je povzročilo antropogeno globalno segrevanje, vendar pa konkretna dejstva trajnostne potrošnje še vedno zahtevajo poglobljeno analizo z družboslovne perspektive. V sledečem prispevku se lotimo pomembnih vprašanj, ki zadevajo trajnostno potrošnjo v povezavi z oglaševanjem, ekonomskim statusom ter družbenim razredom, in preko fokusnih skupin poskušamo odgovoriti, kaj v resnici motivira posameznike k trajnostnemu nakupovanju. Odkrivamo številne ugotovitve, med drugim dejstvo, da ekonomski status ne igra samo pomembne vloge v posameznikovi motivaciji pri nakupovanju trajnostnih izdelkov, temveč da je ta zveza veliko kompleksnejša, kot se zdi na prvi pogled, ter močno potrjujemo moč vpliva vrednot in norm na odločanje glede trajnostnega nakupovanja.

Title:Social Elements of Sustainable Consumption Practices : The Link Between Sustainable Consumption, Advertising and Economic Status
Abstract:Sustainable consumption is an integral part of sustainable development and an important factor in improving the current situation and stopping further damage caused by anthropogenic global warming. But the concrete facts of sustainable consumption still require in-depth analysis from a social science perspective. In the following article, we tackle important questions concerning sustainable consumption in connection with advertising, economic status and social class, and we try to answer through focus groups what really motivates individuals to make sustainable purchases. We discover many findings, including the fact that economic status not only plays an important role in an individual’s motivation to buy sustainable products, but that this relationship is much more complex than it seems at first glance, and we strongly confirm the power of values and norms on decision-making regarding sustainability shopping.
