Abstract:Prispevek predstavlja primerjalno analizo kulturne diplomacije Republike Slovenije v štirih sosednjih državah – Avstriji, Italiji, Madžarski in Hrvaški, v obdobju od leta 2006 do 2023.

Title:Comparative Analysis of Slovenia’s Cultural Diplomacy in Neighbouring Countries (2006–2023)
Abstract:This article presents a comparative analysis of the cultural diplomacy of Slovenia in its four neighbouring countries – Austria, Italy, Hungary, and Croatia – over the period from 2006 to 2023. The study is based on a systematic review of annual reports issued by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and focuses on selected cultural projects implemented by Slovenia in these countries. The analysis employs a qualitative approach to examining the content of the reports. The findings indicate that Slovenia has pursued cultural diplomacy in neighbouring countries through a relatively diverse set of practices and a wide range of cultural content. At the same time, the analysis reveals certain limitations and areas for improvement, which are closely linked to institutional support. The results provide a basis for further research on the optimisation of cultural diplomacy, particularly with regard to the development of long-term strategies and the expansion of access to cultural content.
