Abstract:Večstopenjska tvorba zlasti v slovanskih jezikih omogoča morfotaktične analize, ki se osredotočajo na raziskovanje družljivosti besedotvornih obrazil, pri čemer stopenjske tvor jenke razmejujemo glede na besednovrstno pripadnost izhodišč besedotvornih sestavov. Na podlagi obsežne raziskave za slovenščino, ki je z vključitvijo najsodobnejših raziskovalnih metod s področja jezikovnih tehnologij omogočila analizo tako besedja iz aktualnih slovarjev slovenskega jezika kot korpusnih virov, se je pokazalo, da priponsko obrazilo -ati nastopa na začetku priponskih nizov tako pri izsamostalniških, izpridevniških in izprislovnih stopenj skih tvorjenkah. Cilj prispevka je primerjati te priponske kombinatorike, in sicer z vidika (a) dolžine priponskih nizov, (b) njihove razvejanosti, (c) zastopanosti posameznih obrazil kot tudi z vidika (č) pomenotvorja.

Title:Combinatorics of the initial formant -ati in Slovenian
Abstract:Multistage word formation, especially in Slavic languages, allows morphotactic analyses focusing on research into the combinability of formants, where multistage derivatives are delimited according to part-of-speech categorisation of the word-formation base. The anal ysis encompasses vocabulary from current Slovenian dictionaries and corpus sources and is based on extensive research on Slovenian, incorporating state-of-the-art research methods in language technologies. It was shown that the suffix -ati occurs at the beginning of suffix chains in denominal, deadjectival and deadverbial multistage derivatives. This article compares these suffix combinatorics in terms of (a) the length of suffix chains, (b) their branching, and (c) the representation of the individual suffixes, as well as in terms of (d) semantic extension.
