Title:
Early detection of breast cancer
Abstract:
Breast cancer has been arousing great interest of lay and professional public,as its morbidity and mortality have been very high in the civilized world. According to the last data of the Slovene Cancer Register, 70 new casesin 100.000 inhabitants are detected each year, and this makes breast cancer the most frequent of all cancers in women. The article describes the methods of early detection and the role of the Center for Breast Diseases at the Institute of Oncology in Ljubljana.
