Pridobljeni podatki so bili primerjani med izvajalci zdravstvene nege v Splošni bolnišnici Novo mesto in izvajalci zdravstvene nege v Zdravstvenem domu Novo mesto.

Title:Stress analysis and knowledge of clinical supervision among employees in Health care centre Novo mesto and General hospital Novo mesto
Abstract:Introduction: The nurses' work circumstances and the nature of their profession are presently undergoing substantial changes, accruing to a higher incidence and levels of work-related stress. Supervision may be an important tool in the management of stress when coping with the demands and pressures of daily work, the benefits of which are not yet fully recognised by nurses. Aim: The aim of the study was to identify the most common stress-inducing factors and obtain the nurses' perceptions regarding clinical supervision. Methods: Qualitative-descriptive method was employed and casuistic approach was applied. The research was conducted in the Novo mesto General Hospital and the Novo mesto Health Centre. The questionnaire as a survey instrument consisted of 33 multiple choice and polar questions with pre-coded responses. A total of 60 questionnaires were analyzed and graphically presented. Results: 98 % of respondents consider their work or work environment stressful. The results are comparable in both institutions: 90 % of the respondents experience or have experienced stress related psychological and/or physical symptoms associated with their work or work environment. Only 10 % do not feel to be under stress. 75 % of respondents would demand a clinical supervisor for help in stress situations, if only available in their institution. Discussion: The results obtained indicate that the nurses' work related stress is extremely high. Clinical supervision as a formal, structured process of professional support is an effective stress management strategy, but not sufficiently applied when coping with a variety of physical and psychological strains in the work place. Though fully aware of the risk factors for the detrimental work related stress, the healthcare employees generally tend to manage and deal with it on their own. The study reveals that the efficiency of supervision must needs be improved, thereby providing healthier working conditions.
