Title:	The organization of nursing care services in health institutions in Slovenia
Abstract:	The article deals with the organization of nursing care services in health providing institutions in Slovenia. Some definitions of nursing care are presented, and it's position as well as the position of health services in general in Europe and in Slovenia are described. The article also deals with the trends of the professional development of nursing care in Slovenia. The conditions and methods for the introduction of changes in the organization of nursing care services and the adaptation to new circumstances in health field are described. With the description of the theoretical contents of the organization and management with the application to the field of nursing care, the activities of professional public for the formulation of the definition of nursing care as an independent service in the frames of health institutions in Slovenia is presented. The article presents the project research study The Organization of Independent Nursing Care Services in Health Institutions in Slovenia. In the empirical part, the research problems and questions, processed on the basis of an inventory answered by head nurses of health institutions in Slovenia are presented. The analysis of answers is presented in the results part of the article, and the discussion part presents the objective state of affairs in the field of the organization of health services in health institutions where nursing care is one of the basic services in the frames of health care. In the conclusions, the suggestions point at the activities which Slovenian nurses should undertake or develop further so that nursing care can get an adequate role and position in the field of health services in Slovenia.
