Zdrava porodnica, primerno pripravljena na porod, naj bi sama izbrala ustrezni telesni položaj med porodom, kar naj bi vplivalo na njeno pozitivno izkušnjo glede poroda: zavest, da je sposobna usmerjati lastno vedenje, ohraniti nadzor nad stanjem in se sprostiti.
