Abstract:Rimska kolonija Emona velja za najstarejše rimsko avtonomno mesto na Slovenskem, katerega ustanovitev postavljamo v čas prvega rimskega cesarja Avgusta.

Title:Oclatii in Emona and throughout the empire
Abstract:The Roman colony of Emona is considered the oldest Roman autonomous town in modern Slovenian territory, the establishment of which is dated to the period of the first Roman emperor, Augustus. Due to the strategic position of this area, Emona was undoubtedly a prized target of Italic colonists, documented on inscription-bearing stone monuments, primarily gravestones. During the first phase of colonization and Romanization, several families were particularly active. Therefore, their representatives were not only often documented, but they also held important functions in the city administration. The representatives of Oclatii in Emona and its ager were not among the most common ones. There are only two gravestones known to date, one from the town itself and the other from the Emona ager (Lesce?). Both representatives were most likely part of the municipal elite—one as a veteran and the other as a decurion of the Emona colony.
