Abstract:Recently a point was made in this journal, that the well-known relation — the Fuoss–Kirkwood formula — between impedance of a causal, linear device and the pertaining distribution of relaxation times is futile. We point-out the incorrect use of relation and provide evidence that the formula is applicable when used correctly.
Keywords:distribution of relaxation times, Fuoss–Kirkwood relation, equivalent circuit models
