Prospalax priscus jaw from the site of Węże 2 (southern Poland, Pliocene)
Michał Czernielewski, 2023, original scientific article

Abstract: The ecology and adaptations of the Anomalomyidae (Muroidea) have been long debated in the scientific literature. A jaw belonging to Prospalax priscus (Anomalomyidae) was found at the Late Pliocene site of Węże 2 in southern Poland. The presence of this species at the site agrees with the interpretation of P. priscus and the Anomalomyidae in general as adapted to forest environments.
