There are two search modes available: simple and advanced. Simple search can include one or more words from the title, summary, keywords or full text, but does not allow the use of search operators. Advanced search allows to limit the number of search results by entering the search terms of different categories in the search window, as well as the use of Boolean search operators (AND, OR and AND NOT). In search results short formats of records are displayed and some data are displayed as links, which open a detailed description of the material (title link) or perform a new search (author or keyword link).

Attention and Hospitality : An Attempt at a Socio-Phenomenological Definition of the Relationships Between Asylum Seekers and "Helpers"
Audran Aulanier, 2025, professional article

Abstract: The essay is a philosophical reflection carried out by way of a sociological investigation. The goal is to understand what role attention plays in the everyday life of asylum seekers, from its pathological aspects that affect their identity to the attention that they give to others or that they receive from others, which revives their responsivity. Perpetually stimulated by the state accommodation centers for asylum seekers (reception systems) and their life as asylum seekers, the capacity to direct their attention becomes jeopardized. But when intersubjective relationships open up a common sphere, attention is revived and can be directed again: new responses are possible. On the basis of phenomenological descriptions coming from fieldwork, I characterize this inter-attention (between asylum seekers and “helpers”) as a particular mode of hospitality. From this, I conclude by sketching an ethics of attention.

Early Heidegger and Biology
Dragan Jakovljević, 2025, professional article

Abstract: In the paper, the author problematizes the attempt to aprioritize empirical sciences as well as the reduction of theoretical capacities of biology in the famous work by young Martin Heidegger Sein und Zeit. For this purpose, the relations between his Daseinsanalytik and the research findings of biology are examined. The author ties in with the criticism of Heidegger’s theses by Julius Kraft and Hans Albert. The aprioritization of everyday thinking as well as the claim of the a priori primacy of the lifeworld over the research findings of empirical sciences are rejected. Likewise, Heidegger’s thesis is rejected that biology does not give us an answer to the question, what is man, and that a crisis of fundamentals is allegedly at work in it. As Heidegger’s critique of biology may be misguided in terms of scientific theory, he may be suspected of a veiled anthropocentrism.

Testimony as a Co-Existential Extension of Deliberative Practices
Manca Erzetič, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: The article focuses on the relevance of testimony for deliberative practices, which can be observed to have been insufficiently emphasized in previous discussions on deliberative communication. This seems important not only when it comes to considering deliberative practices in relation to historical time and its aftermath, but also directly in terms of their contemporary application. Indeed, testimonies can assume a key communicative role in different life situations by appearing in various contexts, and in this way allow for the existential and coexistential extension of deliberative practices. First, I address the issue of conceptualizing the phenomenon of testimony and the relationship between the contexts of witnessing and the conditions of truth-telling, drawing in particular on the considerations by Hans-Georg Gadamer, Klaus Held, Bernhard Waldenfels, and Giorgio Agamben’s discussion of testimony and truth in Quando la casa brucia (2020). I conclude the paper by describing a concrete case of the extension of deliberative practice in relation to the testimony of Marijan Rogić, a former convict in the concentration camp on the island of Goli otok [Barren Island].

Mechanical properties of 3D printed concrete : a RILEM 304‑ADC interlaboratory study – compressive strength and modulus of elasticity

Abstract: Traditional construction techniques, such as in-situ casting and pre-cast concrete methods, have well-established testing protocols for assessing compressive strength and modulus of elasticity, including specific procedures for sample preparation and curing. In contrast, 3D concrete printing currently lacks standardized testing protocols, potentially contributing to the inconsistent results reported in previous studies. To address this issue, RILEM TC 304-ADC initiated a comprehensive interlaboratory study on the mechanical properties of 3D printed concrete. This study involves 30 laboratories worldwide, contributing 34 sets of data, with some laboratories testing more than one mix design. The compressive strength and modulus of elasticity were determined under three distinct conditions: Default, where each laboratory printed according to their standard procedure followed by water bath curing; Deviation 1, which involved creating a cold joint by increasing the time interval between printing layers; and Deviation 2, where the standard printing process was used, but the specimens were cured under conditions different from water bath. Some tests were conducted at two different scales based on specimen size—“mortar-scale” and “concrete-scale”—to investigate the size effect on compressive strength. Since the mix design remained identical for both scales, the only variable was the specimen size. This paper reports on the findings from the interlaboratory study, followed by a detailed investigation into the influencing parameters such as extraction location, cold joints, number of interlayers, and curing conditions on the mechanical properties of the printed concrete. As this study includes results from laboratories worldwide, its contribution to the development of relevant standardized testing protocols is critical.
