Pozicioniranje in kontrola kakovosti mamograma

Povzetek: Izhodišča. Pravilno pozicioniranje je predpogoj za zagotavljanje kakovosti mamografskih slik. Zato je pomembno, da dobro poznamo anatomijo in tehnike pozicioniranja, slikanja in razvijanja. Zaključki. Da bi dosegli optimalen prikaz tkiv, rnorarno pravilno nastaviti nosilec kasete in kompresorij ter izkoristiti premakljivost dojk, pomembna pa je tudi pravilna uporaba aparatur.Ob izvajanju mamografije moramo nujno upoštevati kriterije za kontrolo kakovosti. Pri tem nam pomaga pravilnik o pogojih, ki jih morajo izpolnjevati primarni centri za dojke v Republiki Sloveniji, ter evropske smernice. S kontrolo kakovosti bomo u Sloveniji zvišali kvaliteto in s tem prispevali k čirn zgodnejšemu odkrivanju sprememb na dojkah.

Not another hillshade: alternatives which improve visualizations of bathymetric data

Povzetek: Increasing awareness of the importance of effective communication of scientific results and concepts, and the need for more accurate mapping and increased feature visibility led to the development of novel approaches to visualization of high-resolution elevation data. While new approaches have routinely been adopted for land elevation data, this does not seem to be the case for the offshore and submerged terrestrial realms. We test the suitability of algorithms provided by the freely-available and user-friendly Relief Visualization Toolbox (RVT) software package for visualizing bathymetric data. We examine the algorithms optimal for visualizing the general bathymetry of a study area, as well as for highlighting specific morphological shapes that are common on the sea-, lake- and riverbed. We show that these algorithms surpass the more conventional analytical hillshading in providing visualizations of bathymetric data richer in details, and foremost, providing a better overview of the morphological features of the studied areas. We demonstrate that the algorithms are efficient regardless of the source data type, depth range, resolution, geographic, and geological setting. The summary of our results and observations can serve as a reference for future users of RVT for displaying bathymetric data.

Stereotaktična biopsija - cytoguide

Povzetek: Rak dojke je v Sloveniji najpogostejši rak pri ženskah. Mamografija je pomembna pri zgodnjem odkrivanju raka v dojkah. Z mamografijo lahko odkrijemo rak dojke v zgodnjem ali celo preinvazivnem stadiju. Najzaneslivejša metoda, skatero pojasnimo naravo patološkega procesa, je odvzem tkiva in mikroskopska preiskava. Netipljive lezije, ki so vidne na mamografskih posnetkih, so dostopne stereotaktični biopsiji. Lego tumorja in mesto punkcije nam izračuna računalnik. Natančna in hitra markacija tumorja je odvisna od znanja in izkušenj inženirja radiologije: Na osnovi rezultatov citološke in (ali) histološke punkcije se operater in radiolog odločita za odstranitev tumorja. Radiolog markira tumor z žico, barvilom ali radioaktivnim izotopom.

Naše izkušnje z dnevno kontrolo razvijanja filmov

Povzetek: Izvajanje kontrole kakovosti se je na Onkološkem inštitutu začelo z letom 2000. Njen namen je bil dvigniti raven obdelave filmov in odkriti napake v obdelavi filmov še preden bi te utegnile pomembneje vplivati na kakovost mamogramov. V naslednjem sestavku je na kratko opisan postopek določitve počrnitvene krivulje in parametrov s katerimi dnevno spremljamo kakovost obdelave filmov. Priložena je tudi tabela s pomočjo katere lahko prepoznamo vzroke morebitnih sprememb in jih odpravimo.

Candidate pathogenicity factor/effector proteins of ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma solani’ modulate plant carbohydrate metabolism, accelerate the ascorbate–glutathione cycle, and induce autophagosomes

Povzetek: The pathogenicity of intracellular plant pathogenic bacteria is associated with the action of pathogenicity factors/effectors, but their physiological roles for most phytoplasma species, including ‘Candidiatus Phytoplasma solani’ are unknown. Six putative pathogenicity factors/effectors from six different strains of ‘Ca. P. solani’ were selected by bioinformatic analysis. The way in which they manipulate the host cellular machinery was elucidated by analyzing Nicotiana benthamiana leaves after Agrobacterium-mediated transient transformation with the pathogenicity factor/effector constructs using confocal microscopy, pull-down, and co-immunoprecipitation, and enzyme assays. Candidate pathogenicity factors/effectors were shown to modulate plant carbohydrate metabolism and the ascorbate–glutathione cycle and to induce autophagosomes. PoStoSP06, PoStoSP13, and PoStoSP28 were localized in the nucleus and cytosol. The most active effector in the processes studied was PoStoSP06. PoStoSP18 was associated with an increase in phosphoglucomutase activity, whereas PoStoSP28, previously annotated as an antigenic membrane protein StAMP, specifically interacted with phosphoglucomutase. PoStoSP04 induced only the ascorbate–glutathione cycle along with other pathogenicity factors/effectors. Candidate pathogenicity factors/effectors were involved in reprogramming host carbohydrate metabolism in favor of phytoplasma own growth and infection. They were specifically associated with three distinct metabolic pathways leading to fructose-6-phosphate as an input substrate for glycolysis. The possible significance of autophagosome induction by PoStoSP28 is discussed.

Effect of deep cryogenic treatment on corrosion properties of various high-speed steels

Povzetek: The aim of the study was to evaluate the corrosion properties of three different grades of high-speed steel following a heat treatment procedure involving deep cryogenic treatment after quenching and to investigate how these properties are connected to the microstructure and hard- ness of the material. The hardness of steels was measured, and microstructural properties were determined through observation of the metallographically prepared steels using scanning electron microscopy. These studies were complemented corrosion evaluation by the use of corrosion potential measurement and linear polarization measurement of steels in a sodium tetraborate buffer at pH 10. The results showed that the deep cryogenic procedure of high-speed steel changed the microstructure and consequently affected the hardness of the investigated steels to different extents, depending on their chemical composition. Corrosion studies have confirmed that some high-speed steels have improved corrosion properties after deep cryogenic treatment. The most important improvement in corrosion resistance was observed for deep cryogenically treated high-speed steel EN 1.3395 (M3:2) by 31% when hardened to high hardness values and by 116% under lower hardness conditions. The test procedure for differentiating corrosion properties of differently heat-treated tool steels was established alongside the investigation.
