Abstract:Avtorica v prispevku obravnava plačno vrzel med spoloma, predstavi pravni okvir za zagotavljanje uresničevanja načela enakega plačila za enako delo ali delo enake vrednosti v praksi in ključne teoretične pristope, empirične podatke in izzive, ki preprečujejo, da bi se ti dve načeli uspešno uresničevali v praksi. Avtorica prav tako analizira položaj žensk in moških na trgu dela, predstavi podatke o plačni vrzeli v Sloveniji in Evropski uniji in obravnava ključne vzroke za nastanek razlik v plačah med spoloma v Sloveniji. Prav tako predstavi potencialne rešitve za lažje uresničevanje načela enako plačilo za enako oziroma enakovredno delo v praksi.

Title:The gender pay gap in Slovenia : is the principle of equal pay for equal or equivalent work being implemented in practice?
Abstract:The author examines the gender pay gap, presents the legal framework for ensuring the implementation of the principle of equal pay for equal work or work of equal value in practice and discusses key theoretical approaches, empirical data, and challenges that hinder the successful realisation of these principles. The author also analyses the position of women and men in the labour market, provides data on the gender pay gap in Slovenia and the European Union, and explores the key causes of pay disparities between men and women in Slovenia. Furthermore, the article presents potential solutions to facilitate the practical implementation of the principle of equal pay for equal or equivalent work.
