Prispevek obravnava demografske značilnosti starostnikov te župnije v dolgem 19. stoletju na osnovi treh statusov animarum. Delež starejših se je gibal okoli desetih odstotkov celotne populacije in je le polagoma naraščal, pretežno zaradi naraščanja števila starostnikov v šestdesetih letih starosti. Daleč največ starostnikov je umiralo »zaradi starosti«, pri čemer se je delež tega vzroka smrti na začetku 20. stoletja celo zopet povečal. Title:	Elders in the Sgonico/Zgonik parish registers (status animarum) in the long nineteenth century
Abstract:	The parish of Sgonico/Zgonik is the southernmost outgrowth of the Archdiocese of Gorizia, in the wider Karst hinterland of the city of Trieste. The paper deals with the demographic characteristics of the elderly population of this parish during the long nineteenth century based on three parish registers (status animarum). The proportion of the elderly was around ten percent of the total population and only gradually increased, mainly due to an increased number of the elderly in their sixties. By far the largest number of elderly people died ‘of old age’, and the proportion of this cause of death even increased again at the beginning of the twentieth century
