Abstract:
Izvajanje programa za zagotavljenje kakovosti ima velik pomen tudi v ultrazvočni diagnostiki, saj lahko poslabšanje kakovosti slike in nekaterih funkcij pomembno vpliva na zmožnost odkrivanja in pravilne opredelitve patoloških procesov. Elementi programa za zagotavljanje kvalitete so: pravilnoravnanje z aparaturo, njeno dnevno vzdrževanje, detekcija slabšanja kakovosti pri dnevnem delu in redno testiranje vsakih šest mesecev. Testiranjezajema vizualno inspekcijo aparature (sond, mehaničnih delov, filtra, kablov in kontaktov), oceno kakovosti dokumentacijskih posnetkov, testiranje s fantomom in dokumentacijo rezultatov. S fantomom preverjamo specifične parametre, ki neposredno zadevajo kakovost slike. V prispevku so okvirno obrazloženi ti parametri ter njihov pomen, opisane so tudi vrste ultrazvočnih fantomov. Redno izvajanje programa za zagotavljanje kakovosti bi moralo postati obvezen sestavni del aktivnosti vsake ultrazvočne diagnostične enote.

Title:
Quality assurance in ultrasound
Abstract:
Quality assurance is essential also in ultrasonography; image degradetion and malfunction of the equipment can adversely influence the ability of the systemto detect and correctly carracterize pathological processes. Quality assurance program consist of optimal operatioon and daily care of imaging equipment and docentation devices, detection of image quality degradation during routine equipment operation, and periodic quality assurance tests. Testing comprises of visual inspection of the equipment (transducers, connection sockets and cables, mechanical components, filters), hard copy evaluation, phantom testing and documentation of the results. With phantom testing, specific parameters related to image quality are evaluated. These parameters are basicaly outlined, as well as the types of ultrasound quality assurance phantoms. Periodic quality assurance testing should become the integral part of routine activity in every diagnostic ultrasound unit.
