Abstract:Z razvojem digitalnih orodij postaja izvedba gozdne inventure na zasebni gozdni posesti dostopnejša, hitrejša in preglednejša.

Title:Time study of a forest stand inventory with the mobile application MOTI on a private forest holding
Abstract:Due to the development of digital tools, forest inventories on private forest holdings are becoming more accessible, faster and easier to use. As part of the Digigozd EIP project, we conducted time analysis of stand inventories on six forest estates for measuring stand basal area, the number of trees and the top height with the Slovenian version of the MOTI mobile application. The owners carried out measurements on 149 sample plots in 14 stands, most of which were in the timber phase. The collected measurements were analyzed at the stand level, the property level and together. We found a negative exponential effect of learning for almost all owners; the average time needed for measuring all three parameters on a plot was 10 min. Using a linear mixed-effect model, we found that only learning has a significant effect on the time needed for forest inventory. This means that, at least in the initial phase, when the measurer is not yet trained, learning has a dominant influence on the speed at which measurements are made. Based on the time studies and experience gained in the project, we aim to continue with the development of tools to support the management of private forest holdings
