11. Effect of leaching on the composition of hydration phases during chloride exposure of mortarAlisa Machner, Marie Helene Bjørndal, Harald Justnes, Lucija Hanžič, Aljoša Šajna, Yushan Gu, Benoit Bary, Mohsen Ben Haha, Mette R. Geiker, Klaartje De Weerdt, 2022, original scientific article Abstract: Mortar specimens were exposed to either a 3% NaCl solution or a 3% NaCl+KOH solution for up to 180 days. Exposure to the NaCl solution provoked much more leaching than the NaCl+KOH exposure. Leaching strongly impacted the chloride ingress profiles. The extended leaching led to a maximum total chloride content almost three times higher and a deeper chloride penetration than exposure with limited leaching after 180 days. The higher maximum chloride content seems to be linked to the enhanced binding capacity of the C-S-H and AFm phases upon moderate leaching as determined by SEM-EDS. The total chloride profile appears to be governed by multi-ion transport and the interaction of chloride with the hydration phases. Service life prediction and performance testing both rely on total chloride profiles and therefore ought to take these interactions into account. 14. How do you feel at school? : a cross-country comparative analysis of migrant adolescents' school well-beingLucija Dežan, Mateja Sedmak, 2023, original scientific article Abstract: Adolescents present a relevant stakeholder in international migrations since they comprise a large share of all migrants. Previous studies show that migration processes significantly affect the well-being of migrant adolescents. This article investigates how the school environment, with its pedagogical practices and interpersonal relationships established between migrant adolescents, their classmates, and teachers, affect migrant adolescents’ well-being. Our research draws on quantitative data collected as part of the MiCREATE project. The sample of migrant adolescents (N = 700) was surveyed in 46 schools in six countries: Austria, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, Poland, and the United Kingdom. Results indicate that migrant adolescents like school and feel safe there, however, they tend to be more satisfied with relationships established with teachers than with peers. Furthermore, differences in self-perceived school well-being emerge when comparing countries with a longer tradition of high migration flows (Spain, Denmark, and the United Kingdom) and those less experienced (Poland and Slovenia), although slight exceptions were detected. The results lead to the conclusion that schools that foster intercultural education and fulfilling interpersonal relationships are essential for school well-being of migrant adolescents and present an important step toward successful integration of migrant youth. 16. Obravnava gastrointestinalnih zapletov sistemskega zdravljenja raka : slabost in bruhanjeLucija Bogdan, Janja Ocvirk, 2022, published scientific conference contribution Abstract: Slabost in bruhanje sta pogosta neželena učinka sistemskega zdravljenja raka, ki pomembno vplivata na kvaliteto življenja bolnikov. V mehanizem nastanka so vpleteni različni živčni prenašalci, pomembno vlogo imajo dopamin, serotonin in substanca P. Glede na čas nastanka pozanamo akutno in pozno s sistemskim zdravljenjem povzročeno slabost in bruhanje. Najučinkoviteje ju obravnavamo s profilaktično uporabo antimetikov. Antiemetična profilaksa je indicirana v primeru več kot 10% tveganja za pojav slabosti in bruhanja glede na ESMO/MASCC klasifikacijo. Uporabljamo dopaminske antagoniste, 5-HT3- in NK1- antagoniste.
