492. Report of the Third General Meeting (GM3) & Cross-Working Group Meeting : ERBFacility - European Raptor Biomonitoring Facility, COST ACTION 16224Al Vrezec, Guy Duke, Rafael Mateo, Rui Lourenço, Antonio J. Garcia-Fernandez, Richard Shore, Paola Movalli, Chris Wernham, Pablo Sánchez Virosta, 2020, druge monografije in druga zaključena dela Povzetek: This is a report from the Third General Meeting (GM3) and Cross-Working Group Meeting of the COST Action European Raptor Biomonitoring Facility (ERBFacility, CA 16224). The Fourth Management Committee Meeting (MC4) took place back-to-back with the General Meeting. The Minutes of the Management Committee Meeting are published separately. GM3 brought together the ERBFacility community of Management Committee (MC) members, STSM holders and additional key resource persons active in the analysis, collections and field arenas in relation to the monitoring of contaminants in raptors. 55 participants attended GM3 from 24 COST Member Countries, of which 43 MC members and substitutes who also attended the Fourth Management Committee Meeting (MC4). This includes a multidisciplinary community of field ornithologists and ecologists, curators (from natural history museums, environmental specimen banks and others) and ecotoxicologists (Fig. 1). Around 30 participants attended the Cross-Working Group meeting. The full list of participants is annexed to this report. On Day 1, Tuesday 4th February, the morning session provided a recap of the objectives and rationale for the Action, an overview of the state of play from the three Working Groups in the Analysis, Collections and Field Arenas and presentations from mission holders. This was followed by an outline of plans for the remainder of the current Grant Period (GP3, to end April 2020) and for GP4 (1/5/20-30/4/21) and through to end of Action (October 2021). This was followed by break-out discussion on key cross-Arena issues for the remainder of the Action focussing on three topics: the ERBFacility proof of concept study (led by Rafael Mateo, Rui Lourenço), capacity building and training schools (led by Chris Wernham, Paola Movalli), and action communication and dissemination (led by Guy Duke, Chris Wernham, Al Vrezec). 493. To so: prava morska trava (Zostera marina), mala morska trava (Zostera noltii), kolenčasta cimodoceja (Cymodocea nodosa) in pozejdonka (Posidonia oceanica). 494. Čudovita pestrost živegaMojca Pibernik, Blaž Koderman, Danilo Bevk, 2020, druge monografije in druga zaključena dela Povzetek: Biotska pestrost (tudi biotska raznolikost, biotska raznovrstnost, biodiverziteta) je raznolikost živih bitij. Vključuje vse rastline, živali in druge organizme. 496. Application of a metric for complex polynomials to bounded modification of planar Pythagorean-hodograph curvesRida A. M. T. Farouki, Marjetka Knez, Vito Vitrih, Emil Žagar, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Povzetek: By interpreting planar polynomial curves as complex-valued functions of a real parameter, an inner product, norm, metric function, and the notion of orthogonality may be defined for such curves. This approach is applied to the complex pre-image polynomials that generate planar Pythagorean-hodograph (PH) curves, to facilitate the implementation of bounded modifications of them that preserve their PH nature. The problems of bounded modifications under the constraint of fixed curve end points and end tangent directions, and of increasing the arc length of a PH curve by a prescribed amount, are also addressed. 500. ICPP 2023 Satellite event: high-throughput sequencing in plant virology: from discovery to diagnostics (Sunday, 20 August 2023 – all day) : Lyon, France2023, druge monografije in druga zaključena dela Povzetek: High-throughput sequencing (HTS) technologies have revolutionized plant virus research and diagnostics by accelerating the discovery of new viruses and by providing a sensitive untargeted approach for the detection of viruses. The latter, together with high data-generation potential of HTS, enables discovery of new and emerging viruses from diverse hosts, archived or ancient samples, and untargeted virus detection in diverse matrices, as well as research on a broad range of topics, such as plant virus epidemiology, diversity, and evolution. Many new plant virus discoveries, increased availability of sequence data, and a lagging biological characterization of HTS-based findings call for a broad consideration on harmonization of sequencing and data analysis approaches, as well as the interpretation of the results from the scientific and regulatory perspective. During this satellite meeting, different aspects of applying HTS in plant virology will be addressed and discussed. Topics will include: discovery and detection of new and emerging viruses; virus diversity, epidemiology, and evolution studies; development of virus detection and identification protocols and validation of HTS-based tests for plant virus diagnostics.
