Naravne motnje na Bovškem – analiza vpliva naravnih motenj in vzrokov za njihovo pojavljanje

Abstract: V raziskavi smo analizirali strukturo poseka na Bovškem v obdobju 1995–2020 s poudarkom na sanitarnem poseku zaradi vetra in podlubnikov ter poskušali poiskati glavne dejavnike, ki vplivajo na verjetnost pojavljanja vetrolomov in namnožitve podlubnikov. Pridobili smo podatke o količini in strukturi poseka za raziskovalno območje v obdobju 1995–2020 in podatke o šestindvajsetih lokacijah vetrolomov z znanim časom nastanka ter šestindvajsetih odsekih, poškodovanih zaradi podlubnikov. Podatke smo analizirali s pomočjo metod opisne statistike, bivariatne analize in binarne logistične regresije. V raziskovalnem območju smo zaznali izrazito povečanje sanitarnega poseka po letu 2018. Glavna vzroka sanitarnih sečenj sta bila veter in podlubniki. Binarna logistična regresija je kot ključne dejavnike za pojav vetrolomov izpostavila kamnitost in prisotnost minulih motenj ter valovitega reliefa. Bivariatne analize so pokazale tudi, da se vetrolomi pojavljajo predvsem v debeljakih z visoko lesno zalogo, ki rastejo na zmernih do strmih grebenih z južno ekspozicijo, imajo tesen ali vrzelast sklep in večji delež pomlajenih vrzeli. Binarna regresija je izpostavila tudi vpliv močnih jugozahodnih vetrov, ki prinašajo obilne padavine. Za pojav podlubnikov je binarna logistična regresija kot ključne dejavnike izpostavila količino lesne zaloge in delež iglavcev. Bivariatne analize so pokazale tudi, da se podlubniki pogosteje pojavljajo v odsekih z valovitim reliefom in jugovzhodno ekspozicijo, večjim deležem mladovij in sestojev v obnovi ter manjšim deležem drogovnjakov. Analizirali smo tudi trend večanja sanitarnega poseka po koncu proučevanega obdobja 1995–2020.

Commutators greater than a perturbation of the identity

Abstract: Let $a$ and $b$ be elements of an ordered normed algebra ${\mathcal A}$ with unit $e$. Suppose that the element $a$ is positive and that for some $\varepsilon > 0$ there exists an element $x\in {\mathcal A}$ with $\|x\|\leq \varepsilon$ such that $ab-ba \geq e+x$. If the norm on ${\mathcal A}$ is monotone, then we show $\|a\|\cdot \|b\|\geq \tfrac{1}{2} \ln \tfrac{1}{\varepsilon}$, which can be viewed as an order analog of Popa's quantitative result for commutators of operators on Hilbert spaces. We also give a relevant example of positive operators $A$ and $B$ on the Hilbert lattice $\ell^2$ such that their commutator $A B - B A$ is greater than an arbitrarily small perturbation of the identity operator.

Bivariate measure-inducing quasi-copulas

Abstract: It is well known that every bivariate copula induces a positive measure on the Borel $\sigma$-algebra on $[0,1]^2$, but there exist bivariate quasi-copulas that do not induce a signed measure on the same $\sigma$-algebra. In this paper we show that a signed measure induced by a bivariate quasi-copula can always be expressed as an infinite combination of measures induced by copulas. With this we are able to give the first characterization of measure-inducing quasi-copulas in the bivariate setting.

Cubic factor-invariant graphs of cycle quotient type—the alternating case

Abstract: We investigate connected cubic vertex-transitive graphs whose edge sets admit a partition into a $2$-factor ${\mathcal C}$ and a $1$-factor that is invariant under a vertex-transitive subgroup of the automorphism group of the graph and where the quotient graph with respect to ${\mathcal C}$ is a cycle. There are two essentially different types of such cubic graphs. In this paper we focus on the examples of what we call the alternating type. We classify all such examples admitting a vertex-transitive subgroup of the automorphism group of the graph preserving the corresponding $2$-factor and also determine the ones for which the $2$-factor is invariant under the full automorphism group of the graph. In this way we introduce a new infinite family of cubic vertex-transitive graphs that is a natural generalization of the well-known generalized Petersen graphs as well as of the honeycomb toroidal graphs. The family contains an infinite subfamily of arc-regular examples and an infinite subfamily of $2$-arc-regular examples.

Cannabinoids and triple-negative breast cancer treatment

Abstract: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) accounts for about 10-20% of all breast cancer cases and is associated with an unfavorable prognosis. Until recently, treatment options for TNBC were limited to chemotherapy. A new successful systemic treatment is immunotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors, but new tumor-specific biomarkers are needed to improve patient outcomes. Cannabinoids show antitumor activity in most preclinical studies in TNBC models and do not appear to have adverse effects on chemotherapy. Clinical data are needed to evaluate efficacy and safety in humans. Importantly, the endocannabinoid system is linked to the immune system and immunosuppression. Therefore, cannabinoid receptors could be a potential biomarker for immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy or a novel mechanism to reverse resistance to immunotherapy. In this article, we provide an overview of the currently available information on how cannabinoids may influence standard therapy in TNBC.

Program spremljanja kakovosti morja in vnosov onesnaženja s kopnega v skladu z Barcelonsko konvencijo : letno poročilo 2010

Abstract: Slovenija kot članica programa Združenih narodov za okolje (UNEP) in podpisnica Konvencije o varovanju Sredozemskega morja pred onesnaženjem (Barcelonska konvencija) aktivno sodeluje v programu Sredozemskega akcijskega načrta (MAP-Mediterranean Action Plan). Program Spremljanja stanja okolja (MED POL program) izvajamo s finančno pomočjo Ministrstva za okolje in prostor R Slovenije, Agencije RS za okolje. Poročilo vključuje rezultate mikrobioloških analiz kakovosti kopaliških vod, fizikalno-kemične in biološke analize morske vode za oceno stopnje evtrofikacije, rezultate policikličnih in aromatskih ogljikovodikov, kadmija in živega srebra v sedimentu in morskih organizmih (školjkah), oceno vnosa s kopenskih točkovnih virov onesnaženja v morje in rezultate analiz biomonitoringa za oceno bioloških posledic onesnaženja na morskih organizmih.

Monitoring populacij izbranih vrst ptic : popisi gnezdilk spomladi 2011 in povzetek popisov v obdobju 2010-2011

Abstract: V letu 2011 smo izvedli monitoring 17 izbranih vrst ptic na 20 IBA. Identificirali smo naslednje grožnje za ptice na IBA: 1. lov, katerega posledica sta vznemirjanje in nenamerni odstrel (kostanjevka) 2. elektroudar (velika uharica) 3. vznemirjanje na gnezdiščih zaradi rekreacije (velika uharica) 4. intenzifikacija kmetijstva – premena ekstenzivnih travnikov v intenzivne travnike, njive, pašnike; komasacije z odstranjevanjem drevesnih mejic in nekošenih pasov, manjšanje površine visokodebelnih sadovnjakov (zlatovranka, kosec, črnočeli srakoper, hribski škrjanec, veliki skovik itd.) 5. neustrezen vodni režim na gnezdišču (navadna čigra, kostanjevka) 6. uničevanje pomembnih elementov za gnezdenje in prehranjevanje: odstranitev kolonij (navadna čigra), požiganje trstičja in druge obvodne vegetacije (grahasta tukalica, kostanjevka), odstranjevanje grmišč in mejic (črnočeli srakoper, hribski škrjanec, veliki skovik), sekanje primernih gnezditvenih in prehranjevalnih dreves (triprsti in srednji detel) 7. gradbeni in energetski projekti (vrtni strnad) 8. pomlajevanje gozdnih sestojev z neprimernimi ali alohtonimi drevesnimi vrstami (smreka in zeleni bor v Krakovskem gozdu) (srednji detel + ostale kvalifikacijske vrste tega IBA)

Dodatne raziskave kvalifikacijskih vrst Natura 2000 ter vzpostavitev in izvajanje monitoringa ciljnih vrst rakov v letu 2010 in 2011 : končno poročilo

Abstract: Dolgoročni cilj naloge je redno pridobivanje primerljivih podatkov o stanju populacij ciljnih vrst rakov. Primarni kratkoročni cilji naloge so: • nadaljevanje raziskave razširjenosti, na podlagi katerih bo Republika Slovenija predlagala dodatna območja za navadnega koščaka (Austropotamobius torrentium) v omrežje Natura 2000, • zagotovitev terenskih podatkov o prisotnosti rakov za določitev območja razširjenosti za navadnega koščaka (Austropotamobius torrentium), • oblikovanje predloga novih pSCI za navadnega koščaka (Austropotamobius torrentium), • nadaljevanje monitoringa razširjenosti za vrsti navadni koščak (Austropotamobius torrentium) in koščenec (Austropotamobius pallipes), • vzpostavitev populacijskega monitoringa za obe vrsti rakov. Specifične zahteve so: • raziskave tistih vodotokov, za katere obstajajo starejši podatki o rakih, ki v raziskavah 2006/2007 niso bili preverjeni, • na območjih znane razširjenosti naj bodo nova vzorčna mesta vsaj 500 m dolvodno in/ali gorvodno od znanega najdišča, • razišče se lokacije v območjih Natura 2000, kjer so raki kvalifikacijska vrsta, a na vzorčnih mestih v raziskavah 2006/2007 niso bili najdeni oz. njihova prisotnost ni bila potrjena, • izvedba populacijskega monitoringa v štirih Natura 2000 območjih, kjer se izvede natančen popis in ocena razširjenosti. Opomba: za potočnega raka vrste Austropotamobius pallipes uporabljamo izvirno ime koščenec, medtem ko se v uradnih dokumentih uporablja ime primorski koščak. Kljub zadnjim genetskim študijam (Pedraza-Lara s sod. 2010), ki naše koščence uvrščajo v A. italicus, ohranjamo zaenkrat (za namene tega poročila) tudi znanstveno poimenovanje A. pallipes.
