Vrednotenje površinskih sistemov in izbira premaznega sistema z večkriterijskim odločitvenim modelom

Povzetek: Zahtevana ali pričakovana kakovost površinskega sistema je odvisna od ustrezneizbire podlage in premaznega sistema ali obloge. Opredeljena je z namenom uporabe in pričakovano trajnostjo izdelka kot celote. če pri vrednotenju kakovosti površinskih sistemov (njihovih fizikalnih, mehanskih in kemijskih lastnosti) praktično ni nobenih ovir, te nastanejo pri končni izbiripremaznih sistemov. Izmed več ponujenih in kvalitativno ovrednotenih premaznih sistemov se je namreč treba odločiti za optimalnega. Prikazan je model večkriterijskega odločanja, s pomočjo katerega je problem izbire najustreznejšega premaznega sistema med več alternativami možno uspešno rešiti.

Vplivi okoljskih dejavnikov na prostorsko razporeditev divjega prašiča (Sus scrofa l.) v Sloveniji

Povzetek: Številčnost in območje razširjenosti divjega prašiča (Sus scrofa L.) sta se v Sloveniji in drugih evropskih državah v zadnjih desetletjih občutno povečala; posledično so narasle tudi škode, ki jih povzroča v kmetijstvu. V raziskavi smo preučili, kateri okoljski dejavniki ključno vplivajo na prostorsko razporeditev divjega prašiča, in za Slovenijo ugotovili njegovo sedanje in potencialno območje razširjenosti. Raziskava temelji na velikem vzorcu (N = 5.977) georeferenciranih lokacij odvzema prašiča iz vse Slovenije in GIS-podatkovnih plasteh (25 okoljskih spremenljivk). Analize kažejo, da so gostote divjega prašiča največje v območjih: (a) z večjo razpoložljivosti energijsko bogate hrane (odrasli sestoji listavcev, krmišča) in dostopnostjo kritja (kmetijske površine blizu gozda, sukcesijske površine); (b) kjer so temperature visoke, zime mile, z malo snega (verjetnost rabe narašča s temperaturo in upada s količino padavin). Njegova prostorska razporeditev je odvisna tudi od gozdnatosti in stopnje fragmentacije gozda. Zdaj poseljuje 55 % Slovenije, njegov potencialni habitat pa obsega 67 % države. Razširjenost inštevilčnost divjega prašiča se bosta zato verjetno še povečevala, zlasti če se bodo nadaljevali sedanji trendi okoljskih sprememb (naraščanje temperature,povečevanje gozdnatosti, izginjanje iglavcev).

Organisational model of a globally oriented wood industry company

Povzetek: The paper provides an answer to the question as to in what way and with which organizational steps a wood industry company can be (more) adaptable and successful in a rapidly changing (global) business environment. The purpose ofthe article is to form an organizational model of a globally oriented wood industry company, considering the three required model properties: repeatability, efficiency and productiveness, as well as practical applicability. Research is limited to actual state in Slovenian wood industry practice with some specifics that should be considered by other implications of the research. Practical applicability of the model is based on these findings and is ensured by making guidelines on the basis of which companies can organise their businesses. These guidelines include suggested measures forindividual areas of business organization with the intention of increasing adaptability and innovativeness of business operation, improving competitive ability, and the ability of constant improvement. The paper provides a new organizational approach, specialized for making wood industry companies successful in the changing business environment.

Reconstruction of landslide activity using dendrogeomorphological analysis in the Karavanke mountains in NW Slovenia

Povzetek: Tree ring eccentricity was used to reconstruct landslide activity in the last 138 years in the Urbas landslide located at Potoška planina in the NW part of the Karavanke Mountains, Slovenia. The research was based on the dendrochronological sampling of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) in areas of varying landslide intensity. Analysis of a sudden change in the eccentricity index of 82 curved trees concluded that there were 139 growth disturbances and 16 landslide reactivations between 1880 and 2015, with a landslide return period of 8.5 years. Using lidar data, changes in the surface of the digital terrain model (DTM) were compared with changes in the eccentricity index of trees at the same location in the period 2014-2017. On the basis of temporal changes in the eccentricity index and by using spatial interpolation, landslide activity was reconstructed for the period 1943%2015. During this period, landslide intensity increased in the central part of the landslide. Although categorization into seven categories of different stem curvature was proposed, no distinction between categories with respect to their eccentricity index was found.

Povzetek: The relatively poor simulation of the below-ground processes is a severe drawback for many ecosystem models, especially when predicting responses to climate change and management. For a meaningful estimation of ecosystem production and the cycling of water, energy, nutrients and carbon, the integration of soil processes and the exchanges at the surface is crucial. It is increasingly recognized that soil biota play an important role in soil organic carbon and nutrient cycling, shaping soil structure and hydrological properties through their activity, and in water and nutrient uptake by plants through mycorrhizal processes. In this article, we review the main soil biological actors (microbiota, fauna and roots) and their effects on soil functioning. We review to what extent they have been included in soil models and propose which of them could be included in ecosystem models. We show that the model representation of the soil food web, the impact of soil ecosystem engineers on soil structure and the related effects on hydrology and soil organic matter (SOM) stabilization are key issues in improving ecosystem-scale soil representation in models. Finally, we describe a new core model concept (KEYLINK) that integrates insights from SOM models, structural models and food web models to simulate the living soil at an ecosystem scale.
