This study addresses this by classifying images of timber logs by tree species and market value using the Orange data mining software, which leverages pre-trained convolutional neural networks (Inception v3 and SqueezeNet) to generate embeddings from a dataset of 5549 images collected at a real timber auction in Slovenia, followed by logistic regression image classification. Results show high accuracy for tree species classification (up to 92.6%), but substantially lower accuracy for market value classification (40%–55%), reflecting the greater complexity of value determination from visual features. These findings underscore the promise of deep learning for species identification while indicating the need for further methodological advancements to enhance value classification reliability, which offers the practical impact for operational forestry and bioeconomy value chains. The effect of this bile salt on the oxidative status in maize metabolism was determined by spectrophotometric methods, measuring the production of superoxide anions (O2 •- radicals), activity of three antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase – SOD, EC 1.15.1.1; catalase – CAT, EC 1.11.1.6 and pyrogallol peroxidase – PPX, EC 1.11.1.7), content of malondialdehyde (MDA), an end product of lipid peroxidation, the contents of total phenols, tannins and flavonoids, as well as measuring scavenging capacity of plant extracts by the DPPH and ABTS assays. In addition, concentration of NaC remaining in the growth media was measured. The results showed that all tested NaC concentrations caused mild oxidative stress due to increased O2 •- radical production, activity of enzymes, and contents of all measured phenolic compounds after seven days of treatment. The highest percentage of NaC remaining in the maize growth medium after seven days was measured at the lowest initial concentration, 20 mg L−1, indicating that this concentration was the least absorbed by the maize. All issues of the most well-known Slovenian forest journal, Gozdarski vestnik, monographs, and selected books were analysed regarding their contents and classified into six categories: legislation; general forest management and socio-economic conditions; silviculture and forest management; natural, cultural, technical heritage and wood use; organization of forestry; and miscellanea. The largest volume of contributions belonged to the description of forest management and socio-economic conditions, silviculture and forest management, and the organisation of forestry. Although incomplete, legislation also deserves significant attention as a selection of relevant forest ordinances, once valid in the territories of what is now Slovenia, were translated to Slovene. Intelektualna in konceptualna struktura področja urbanega gozdarstva v Sloveniji in svetuMojca Nastran, Vasja Leban, 2025, original scientific article Abstract: Prispevek podaja pregled objavljenih člankov in obravnavanih tematik v mednarodni znanstveni reviji Urban Forestry and Urban Greening (UFUG) ter zaključnih visokošolskih del študentov do leta 2023. V analizo je vključenih 2550 znanstvenih člankov, objavljenih v reviji UFUG v letih med 2002 in 2023, ter 88 zaključnih del, ki so bila izdana na območju Slovenije. Za primerjavo razvoja smo jih razdelili v štiri primerjalna obdobja, člankom izluščili predmetne oznake ter vsaki dodelili eno podkategorijo. Nadalje smo analizirali uporabljene termine, ki se pojavljajo v naslovih in izvlečkih člankov revije UFUG. V dveh dekadah se je, poleg povečanja števila objavljenih člankov, povečalo število člankov, ki uporabljajo predmetne oznake, povezane z biotsko raznovrstnostjo in ohranjanjem (narave). Rezultati kažejo, da je zanimanje med avtorji najbolj padlo za področje politik in upravljanja, zaznali pa smo interdisciplinarno razširitev predvsem na področja zdravstva in psihologije. Ocenjujemo, da se bo v bližnji prihodnosti interdisciplinarna širitev nadaljevala in nazadnje prešla v transdisciplinarnost.
