The Contribution of First Teachers of French at Petrovic’s Court to the Transformation of Society and the Affirmation of Montenegro in Europe
Ivona Jovanović, Jasna Potočnik Topler, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Povzetek: The paper explores the role and contribution of the first foreign teachers of French in Montenegro, to their students/rulers – last three sovereigns of the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty, to Montenegrin society as a whole and to the affirmation of Montenegro in Europe. The paper chronologically relates to the period of rule of Petar II Petrović- Njegoš, Danilo I and Nikola I, to whom the aforementioned Romance language instructors did not transfer merely a knowledge of language, but also much other substance formed from different views and perspectives on the world, thus contributing to the emancipation of Montenegrin society. Through their efforts to modernise Montenegro and strengthen its sovereignty, as well as their publications and political engagement during events critical to Montenegrin history, they contributed to its reputation and popularisation throughout Europe. The research is based on facts found by studying archive and library materials, and on analysis of periodical publications, travel writings, and documents of a memoir/autobiographical character, which significantly contributes to the originality of the article, where the conclusions of the new analysis are presented and represent a significant contribution to the findings published so far.

Uporabnost množično zbranih podatkov mobilnih aplikacij za spremljanje rekreacije na prostem : primer Triglavskega narodnega parka
Jasna Sitar, 2025, strokovni članek

Povzetek: Prispevek analizira uporabnost množično zbranih podatkov aplikacij Strava in Outdooractive za spremljanje obiska pohodnikov v Triglavskem narodnem parku. Primerjava kaže na visoko prostorsko natančnost in raziskovalno vrednost podatkov Strava, medtem ko je prednost pridobljenih Outdooractive podatkov vizualno prepoznavanje trendov na širšem območju. Kljub omejitvam, kot sta demografska in prostorska pristranskost, so ti podatki dragocen dopolnilni vir za analize pohodniških tokov na zavarovanih območjih.

Travel Writing as an Instrument of Cultural Heritage Promotion
Jasna Potočnik Topler, Charlie Mansfield, Hugues Séraphin, Philipp Wassler, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek

Povzetek: This study contributes to the research literature through its approach to equipping tourism content creatives who are entering the professions of destination image communication with platform expertise alongside cooperation and co-creation leadership. Productive skills for travel writers and social media content producers in tourism are significant in the co-creation of sustainable tourist experiences since they are interactive and participative. The two purposes of this study are to implement and improve the dialogue journaling process as a re-usable methodology. The new 3-step processual research methodology is explained through a case study with stakeholders and project leaders in Brežice, Slovenia. The paper contributes to pragmatic tourism management concerns and practice by reporting findings from a real-world process project on cultural heritage that provides a re-usable solution.

Why so Slow? : Analysing the Systemic Regulation of Sexual Harassment and Violence in the Slovenian Academic Field
Jasna Podreka, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek

Povzetek: Research on sexual harassment and gender-based violence in academia shows that these issues are widespread and complex and that victims face significant barriers, often resulting in under-reporting and cases remaining unresolved. In Slovenia, these issues have received less attention compared to other forms of gender-based violence, resulting in a lack of research, public debate and systematic regulation. A research project funded by the Ministry of Education and the Slovenian Research Agency aimed to investigate how Slovenian academic institutions deal with sexual violence and harassment. The project found a general lack of comprehensive policies and highlighted the need for more proactive measures to effectively address these issues. The results of the project, which are presented in this article, provide insights into the prevalence, regulation and institutional responses to sexual violence and harassment in Slovenian higher education.

Literarne poti kot orodje ohranjanja dediščine in razvoja turizma : Primer poti Dragotina Ketteja
Jasna Potočnik Topler, Aneja Rože Kravanja, Mateja Kregar Gliha, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek

Povzetek: Literarna dediščina je v času naraščajoče globalizacije postala priljubljeno orodje krepitve podobe destinacije in kakovosti turističnih doživetij, saj služi številnim funkcijam, vključno s spodbujanjem gospodarskega razvoja, izobraževanja in kritičnega razmišljanja. Raziskovalci in snovalci turizma pri doseganju trajnostnega razvoja podpirajo vključevanje literarnih poti v turistično ponudbo in poudarjajo vlogo sodelovalnega pristopa »od spodaj navzgor«. Literarne poti na destinacijah so postale orodje za preusmerjanje turistov, podaljševanje turistične sezone in za oblikovanje obogatenih turističnih doživetij, s čimer povečujejo njihovo privlačnost in prihodke. Raziskava analizira pomen tematske poti Dragotina Ketteja, ki povezuje Prem, pesnikov rojstni kraj, s Trnovim, krajem pesnikovega počitnikovanja, skozi posthumanistično paradigmo, ki poudarja trajnost, etičnost, povezovanje in vključenost lokalnega prebivalstva.

Exploring clinical predictors of severe human metapneumovirus respiratory tract infections in children : insights from a recent outbreak
Airin Veronese, Tina Uršič, Simona Bizjak, Jasna Rodman, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek

Povzetek: Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is an important pathogen that causes both upper (URTIs) and lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) in children. The virus can be implicated in severe bronchiolitis and pneumonia, necessitating hospitalization, with certain cases requiring intensive care unit intervention. As part of a retrospective observational study, we aimed to identify indicators of severe hMPV respiratory tract infections in children referred to the University Children’s Hospital Ljubljana and the Department of Infectious Diseases Ljubljana, Slovenia, during a recent outbreak. We analyzed clinical data from November 2022 to January 2023 and compared the characteristics of children presenting with URTIs and LRTIs. We also examined the characteristics of children with hMPV LRTIs, distinguishing between children with and without LRTI-associated hypoxemia. Of 78 hMPV-PCR-positive pediatric patients (mean age 3.1 years; 60.3% boys), 36% had a URTI, and 64% had an LRTI. Hospitalization was required in 64% (50/78), with 42% (21/50) requiring oxygen therapy. LRTI-associated hypoxemia was more common in patients with atopy who showed dyspnea, tachypnea, crackles, and wheezing on lung auscultation. In a multivariable logistic regression analysis, wheezing detected on lung auscultation was a significant predictive factor for hypoxemic hMPV-LRTI. Specifically, children presenting with wheezing were found to be ten times more likely to experience hypoxemia. Prematurity and chronic conditions did not influence the presentation or severity of hMPV infection. This study highlights wheezing and atopy as crucial indicators of severe hMPV LRTI in children, emphasizing the importance of early recognition and intervention.
