Oligometastatski rak debelega črevesa in danke : prikaz primera

Povzetek: Rak debelega črevesa in danke lahko napreduje v oligometastatsko bolezen. Napredki v zgodnjem odkrivanju in intenzivnem sistemskem zdravljenju omogočajo čedalje boljše odgovore na zdravljenje in dolgoročno sistemsko kontrolo bolezni. Pojavlja se vprašanje dolgoročnega vodenja oligometastatskih bolnikov. Kirurška resekcija zasevkov lahko pripomore k izboljšanem preživetju, omogoča kurativnost posega ali podaljša interval brez sistemskega zdravljenja, je pa pogosto omejena z anatomijo, invazivnostjo in morbiditeto takšnega pristopa. Stereotaktično obsevanje (SBRT) zasevkov omogoča zelo učinkovito in natančno zdravljenje zasevkov v nizkem številu obsevalnih odmerkov in s tem zelo dobro in dolgoročno lokalno kontrolo z minimalno invazivnostjo in morbidnostjo. Ta prikaz primera prikazuje zgodbo bolnika, zdravljenega na Onkološkem inštitutu v Ljubljani.

Vpliv uporabe gozdarske osebne varovalne opreme na psihofizične obremenitve

Povzetek: Uporaba delovnim razmeram primerne osebne varovalne opreme lahko zmanjša težavnost dela in obremenitve gozdnega delavca. Z namenom ugotavljanja razlik med sistemi varovalnih oblačil (poletni, prehodni, zimski) smo izvedli laboratorijsko raziskavo na kolesnem ergometru. Uporabili smo 9 različnih merilnikov, s katerimi smo merili 8 različnih psihofizičnih kazalnikov. Raziskava je pokazala, da obstajajo statistično značilne razlike med posameznimi sistemi oblačil, pri določenih kazalnikih. Vpliv upora ergometra (obremenitve) se je pokazal kot značilen pri meritvah vseh kazalnikov. Kljub izvedbi poskusa samo na eni osebi, rezultati prikazujejo uporabnost izbranih kazalnikov za meritve psihofizičnih obremenitev ter dokazujejo, da na obremenitve gozdnega delavca potencialno vpliva tudi uporaba varovalnih oblačil.

Combining physical and virtual worlds for motor-cognitive training interventions : position paper with guidelines on technology classification in movement-related research

Povzetek: Efficient movements require intact motor and cognitive function. There is a growing literature on motor-cognitive interventions to improve the overall quality of life of healthy or diseased older people. For such interventions, novel technological advances are crucial not only in terms of motivation but also to improve the user experience in a multi-stimuli world, usually offered as a mixture of real and virtual environments. This article provides a classification system for movement-related research dealing with motor-cognitive interventions performed in different extents of a virtual environment. The classification is divided into three categories: (a) type of digital device with the associated degree of immersiveness provided; (b) presence or absence of a human-computer interaction; and (c) activity engagement during training, defined by activity >1.5 Metabolic Equivalent of task. Since virtual reality (VR) often categorizes different technologies under the same term, we propose a taxonomy of digital devices ranging from computer monitors and projectors to head-mounted VR technology. All immersive technologies that have developed rapidly in recent years are grouped under the umbrella term Extended Reality (XR). These include augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and VR, as well as all technologies that have yet to be developed. This technology has potential not only for gaming and entertainment, but also for research, motor-cognitive training programs, rehabilitation, telemedicine, etc. This position paper provides definitions, recommendations, and guidelines for future movement-related interventions based on digital devices, human-computer interactions, and physical engagement to use terms more consistently and contribute to a clearer understanding of their implications.

Influence of alkalis on the phase development of belite-sulfoaluminate clinkers

Povzetek: This paper presents a study on the influence of different amounts of alkalis (K2O and Na2O) on clinker phase formation, microstructure, phase composition and reactivity of belite-sulfoaluminate cement clinker. Using X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectrometry, it was found that the amount of C2S and C4AF increases with the incorporation of alkalis, while the amount of C4A3Ś and CŚ decreases. In addition to the major phases, the samples with alkalis also consist of minor phases such as C3A (tricalcium aluminate), KŚ (arcanite), and KC2Ś3 (Ca-langbeinite). The major ions in the major phases were substituted by alkali cations and some other ions (Ca2+, Al3+, Fe3+, S2-, S6+, Si4+). The alkalis also affect the microstructure of the clinker, e.g., the shape of the grains. Consequently, isothermal calorimetry was used to detect differences in hydration kinetics. The clinker with 2 wt. % K2O content was the most reactive, while the sample with 0.5 wt. % Na content was the least reactive. The latter was primarily influenced by the content of the main and minor phases of the clinker.

Tree rings, wood density and climate–growth relationships of four Douglas-fir provenances in sub-Mediterranean Slovenia

Povzetek: Tree rings, wood density and the climate–growth relationship of four Douglas-fir provenances were analysed separately for the juvenile and adult phases. Four provenances were selected from an existing IUFRO provenance trial planted in 1971 based on their diameter at breast height and vitality. Increment cores were extracted from individual trees, on which we measured tree-ring widths (RW), earlywood widths (EWW) and latewood widths (LWW). Wood density was assessed in standing trees using resistance drilling. The climate–growth correlations were calculated between provenance chronologies of RW, EWW, LWW and latewood share, and the day-wise aggregated Standardised Precipitation-Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI). The analysis was done separately for the juvenile and mature phases of growth. Provenances 1064 (Jefferson) and 1080 (Yelm) exhibited larger annual radial increments than provenances 1028 (Merrit) and 1089 (Cathlamet). The two provenances with the highest annual radial increment in the juvenile phase did not exhibit the same trend in the adult phase. In all provenances, RW, and consequently EWW and LWW, were wider in the juvenile than in adult phase. The share of latewood was in all cases higher in juvenile wood than in mature wood. All four provenances had similar wood densities in both analyzed growth phases. Our analysis showed that when selecting the most promising provenance for planting, possible changes in relative growth rate from the juvenile to adult phase need to be considered.
