Povzetek: Prispevek obravnava prisotnost novejših izrazov pogovornega jezika, ki so zajeti v Sprotnem slovarju slovenskega jezika in označeni s socialnozvrstnimi kvalifikatorji za pogovorni jezik, v koprskem mestnem govoru ter specifične pogovorne izraze, ki so značilni za to območje. Zanima nas, ali so elementi splošnopogovornega jezika razširjeni v koprskem mestnem govoru in ali obstajajo pomembne leksikalne specifike v koprskem mestnem govoru, ki kažejo na raznolikost znotraj pogovornih zvrsti.

Povzetek: The paper seeks to examine the social image of suicide at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, focusing on the case of Trieste as a major Austrian urban centre, where the suicide rates were visibly increasing from at least the 1870s onwards. The perception of the growing presence of suicide in society made it possible to observe the reflec-tions on suicide from the last quarter of the 19th century, originating from different parts of Europe (Morselli, Masaryk, Durkheim), and at the same time how the discourses around suicide shed light on a somewhat broader picture of society, including its fears (of social problems and change, not least the potential threat of the imitative effect that the daily press was believed to create by reporting on suicides).The newspaper discourse usually followed the scientific publications of the time, and the contemporaneous observations on the mass of suicides were confirmed through statistical analyses and medical, sociological, philosophical, and other debates, while raising many other social issues with which suicide in urban areas could be linked (alcoholism, the growth of the proletariat, poverty, changing values, etc.). All these factors shaped the public debate on suicide as a problem of modern society, with an emphasis on (big) cities, where the prob-lem of suicide was much more pronounced than in smaller, non-industrial towns, or in the countryside of the Austrian Littoral.

Povzetek: The area of the Port of Koper was sampled for benthic macroalgae within the BALMAS project, in order to prepare an overview of native and non-indigenous species (NIS). In the mediolittoral and upper-infralittoral belts of the port area, 28 algal taxa were found (21 Rhodophyta, 6 Chlorophyta and 1 Ochrophyta). Only one algal NIS was identified, the tetrasporophyte of the red algae Asparagopsis armata. The species was found in low abundances only in autumn samples, collected in the lower mediolittoral and upper infralittoral belt. The aim of this paper is to discuss the limited presence and abundance of algal NIS in the area of the Port of Koper.

Povzetek: V prispevku je opazovan diskurz, ki se je v Avstrijskem primorju (zlasti v Trstu) sple-tal okrog razprav o higienizaciji in asanaciji urbanega prostora. Pri tem so izpostavljeni od konca 19. stoletja naraščajoč družbeni pomen higiene v najširšem smislu, zavedanje o pomenu bivanjskih pogojev v urbanem prostoru ter vpliv socialnih okoliščin na otroško umr-ljivost. Slednja je bila namreč eden ključnih medicinskih, higienskih, moralnih in političnih argumentov za prikaz pomanjkljivih prizadevanj na področju zdravstvene preventive ter hkrati podlaga za širjenje modernih, z napredkom povezanih (meščanskih) idej, tudi skozi imperative, ki so naslavljali materinsko nego. Poleg tega je kvantitativni del analize podobno kot za Trst tudi za Koper vsaj deloma pokazal, da je bil velik delež smrti med otroki do petega leta starosti verjetno povezan prav s socialno deprivacijo tako z vidika higiene in prehrane kot profilakse in medicinske kurative.
