Raziskovanje v vzgoji in izobraževanju : izobraževanje učiteljic in učiteljev za raziskovalno učenje in poučevanje2024, scientific monograph Abstract: V današnjem hitro razvijajočem se izobraževalnem okolju sposobnost raziskovanja ni več omejena na akademsko sfero. Za učiteljice in učitelje je sposobnost izvajanja in uporabe pedagoških raziskav ključnega pomena pri spodbujanju na dokazih temelječih praks ter zagotavljanju, da so pedagoške strategije usklajene s trenutnim razvojem in z različnimi potrebami razredov. Poglavja v tej monografiji tako izražajo enotno sporočilo: če učiteljice in učitelje opremimo z raziskovalnimi kompetencami, s tem ne le krepimo njihovo strokovno rast, temveč tudi izboljšujemo izobraževalne rezultate na vseh ravneh. Ena od osrednjih tem, ki se pojavlja v poglavjih, je dvojna vloga, ki jo morajo imeti učiteljice in učitelji kot izobraževalke in izobraževalci ter raziskovalke in raziskovalci. Ta dvojna vloga zahteva razvijanje miselnosti, ki ceni raziskovanje, kritično mišljenje in refleksivno prakso. Učiteljice in učitelji, ki so usposobljene in usposobljeni, da svoje učilnice obravnavajo kot dinamične prostore za raziskovanje in inovacije, se lahko bolje odzovejo na edinstvene izzive svojih učenk in učencev. Vsebina te monografije se poglobi v različne vidike tega pristopa in se prevprašuje, kako je tako za učiteljice in učitelje kot za učenke in učence mogoče oblikovati učno okolje za spodbujanje teh kompetenc. 3. Digital equity and sustainability in higher educationKarmen Drljić, Sonja Čotar Konrad, Sonja Rutar, Tina Štemberger, 2025, original scientific article Abstract: Digital equity, grounded in principles of equity and the ethics of care, is essential for ensuring quality higher education. It facilitates access, supports sustainability, and promotes inclusive education by addressing the technological dimensions of education. This study explores the relationship between digital equity and sustainability in higher education. A total of 167 students enrolled in initial teacher education programs at the University of Primorska, Faculty of Education, completed a questionnaire featuring the Digital Equity in Higher Education Scale and the Sustainability in Higher Education Scale. To achieve this study’s objectives, a principal factor analysis was conducted to validate the scales, and a multiple linear regression was employed to develop a predictive model. The findings revealed that digital equity in higher education comprises five dimensions as follows: (i) access to teachers who support the use of digital technology; (ii) access to digital technology and opportunities for its use; (iii) access to digital resources; (iv) access to culturally relevant software and applications; and (v) access to open-access resources. Sustainability in higher education encompasses two dimensions as follows: (i) collaborative problem solving and (ii) socioemotional aspects of sustainability. These dimensions interact in a complex manner. Key predictors of digital equity and sustainability included access to and use of digital technology, as well as collaborative problem solving. Importantly, this study highlighted the critical role of skilled teachers in facilitating the effective use of digital technology. 4. Evaluation of a multilingual kindergarten model in Slovenia : insights from teachers, parents and childrenMojca Žefran, Silva Bratož, Sonja Rutar, 2025, original scientific article Abstract: This paper presents an in-depth evaluation of a Multilingual Kindergarten Model (MU-KI Koper) developed in Slovenia aimed at integrating pluralistic approaches to language learning into early childhood education. The model activities were carried out over a period of nine months. The data were collected through focus group discussions with parents and in-service preschool teachers engaged in the implementation of the model, an online questionnaire for parents and through semi-structured interviews with the children (aged 5-6) involved in the model implementation. We explored the efficacy of the model by focusing on the following categories: the suitability and perception of effectiveness of the activities in meeting the needs of the pre-school curriculum in the area of developing multilingual competences, the children’s response to the programme, and the parents’ expectations and their feedback on meeting their expectations regarding the implementation of the model. The findings reveal that the Multilingual Kindergarten Model effectively supports children’s cognitive, linguistic and affective development through age- and developmentally-appropriate activities, while fostering early language awareness, positive attitudes towards languages and cultural curiosity. 5. Teachers' and artists' collaborative teaching and learningSonja Rutar, Tina Štemberger, Bogdana Borota, 2025, original scientific article Abstract: The new dimension of a stimulating, open and innovative learning environment in education is recognised in the integrative collaboration of all those involved in the educational process. Such an environment provides children with a variety of contextual experiences to enter the symbolic world of culture and art. Collaboration between artists and teachers has been identified as an essential approach to improving the quality of planned arts practice in kindergartens and schools. In order to improve collaborative teaching between teachers and artists in Slovenian preschools and primary schools, a design-based research methodology was used. The paper presents a snapshot of the pre-intervention situation and the impact of interventions that involved teachers in collaborative work with artists and children’s participation in the educational process. The study involved 116 preschool teachers and 148 primary school teachers. The results showed the importance of involving artists in the educational process. By involving artists in the pedagogical process, teachers can gain information about how children can participate experientially and expressively in artistic experiences, which 1) relieves the burden of predetermined and overstructured curricular practices, 2) enables pupils to participate experientially and expressively in artistic experiences, 3) provides teachers with insight into children’s experiential and expressive capacities/ competences, and 4) provides artists with insight into the possibilities of integrating authentic artistic experiences into education. 6. Reforma predšolske vzgoje v vrtcu? Da, v smeri večje pravičnosti in višje kakovosti za vse malčke in otrokeLjubica Marjanovič Umek, Janja Bogataj, Jana Flego, Andreja Hočevar, Branka Kovaček, Alenka Močnik, Sonja Rutar, Urška Fekonja, 2023, original scientific article Abstract: Ključna naloga predšolske vzgoje v vrtcu je zagotoviti vsem malčkom in otrokom možnosti za celovit razvoj, njihovi starosti primerno učenje, dobro počutje, vključenost in varnost. Številne tuje in domače raziskave potrjujejo pomemben pozitiven (kompenzatoren) učinek vrtca na različna področja razvoja malčkov in otrok ter hkrati poudarjajo pomen kakovosti vrtca tako na strukturni kot tudi na posredni in procesni ravni. V prispevku so predstavljene ugotovitve kvalitativne študije, v kateri smo v osmih slovenskih vrtcih, ki so bili izbrani glede na različne kriterije (npr. geografsko lego, velikost, dvojezično okolje) v fokusnih skupinah z vodstvenimi, strokovnimi in svetovalnimi delavci in delavkami ter starši opredelile izzive, s katerimi se spoprijemajo vrtci v današnjem času. Analiza odgovorov, zbranih v fokusnih skupinah, je pokazala, da so prevladujoči prepoznani izzivi v vrtcih neustrezni normativi, ki določajo število otrok v oddelkih 1. in 2. starostne skupine in prostorske pogoje; delo z otroki s posebnimi potrebami, otroki, katerih prvi jezik ni slovenščina, ter romskimi otroki; dejavnosti kurikuluma ter prehod iz vrtca v šolo. Izhajajoč iz razvojnopsiholoških teorij, sodobnih raziskav na področju spodbujanja zgodnjega razvoja in učenja otrok ter primerjalnih študij, smo oblikovale možne rešitve opredeljenih izzivov, ki stremijo k zagotavljanju večje pravičnosti in višje kakovosti za vse malčke in otroke, vključene v vrtec. Participacija otrok pri načrtovanju dejavnosti v predšolski vzgoji in izobraževanjuSonja Rutar, Blaž Simčič, Alja Smolčič, 2023, original scientific article Abstract: Participacija otrok pri odločanju v zanje pomembnih zadevah je v zadnjih desetletjih postala ena izmed osrednjih tem pedagoških razprav tudi na področju predšolske vzgoje. Čeprav Konvencija o otrokovih pravicah (1989) obvezuje države podpisnice, da zagotovijo otroku možnost svobodnega izražanja mnenj o vseh zadevah v zvezi z njim, je interpretacija otrokovih mnenj že v konvenciji prejudicirana z upoštevanjem otrokove starosti in zrelosti. V prispevku predstavljamo rezultate raziskave, v kateri smo proučevali povezanost stališč vzgojiteljic do participacije otrok z načini participacije otrok pri načrtovanju dejavnosti v vrtcih ter preverjali vključenost otrok v načrtovanje glede na prvo in drugo starostno obdobje, delovno dobo vzgojiteljic, njihovo usposabljanje ter lastno proučevanje participacije otrok. Rezultati kažejo, da se participacija otrok pri načrtovanju v predšolski vzgoji povezuje s stališči vzgojiteljic do participacije otrok, delovno dobo vzgojiteljic, starostjo otrok in predvsem s samoiniciativnim pridobivanjem znanja na področju participacije otrok v vrtcu.
