1. Expert opinions about the use of comprehensive nutrition protocol in practice for obesity preventionMojca Stubelj, Melita Peršolja, Lidija Zadnik Stirn, 2016, original scientific article Abstract: Introduction: Obesity is associated with a number of chronic diseases. The research aimed to determine the effectiveness of nutrition assessment when using a comprehensive nutrition protocol at primary health service. Methods: A real life situation was analysed for the positive and negative factors in the newly formed comprehensive nutritional protocol. These factors were identified by a group decision-making and a SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Treats) and subsequently numerically evaluated with the Analytic Hierarchy Process method which included expert opinions. Results: According to experts, the most important factors justifying the introduction of the protocol in practice are "equal treatment for all subjects" and "precisely prepared manual", followed by "individual treatment" and "health status improvements". The two most important negative factors are "dependence on other professionals" and "subjects will not be able to follow the protocol". Discussion and conclusion: Expert opinions favour the introduction of nutrition protocol in clinical practice to ensure equal treatment of all subjects, and enhance obesity prevention with the accompanying detailed instructions. For this reason, further research should address the foundation of dietetic counselling services at the primary level of healthcare, so that physicians could refer obese people to individual nutritional therapy, which may reduce the prevalence of obesity.

Recent theoretical and practical contributions to the OR environment and CEJOR from the perspective of SSI-SORJanez Povh, Lidija Zadnik Stirn, Janez Žerovnik, 2025, original scientific article Abstract: The article summarizes the research topics published in this special issue. The pa- pers in this issue are based on the selected and peer-reviewed papers from the 17th International Symposium on Operations Research in Slovenia – SOR’23, which took place in Bled, Slovenia (https://arhiv.fov.um.si/sor23/), September 20–22, 2023. In addition, we examined the 27 research papers in the last two SSI-SOR CEJOR special issues, 16 in the Cent Eur J Oper Res 31, issue 3, 2023, and 11 in this CEJOR special issue, and grouped them into clusters using keywords ac- cording to the methodology published by Kastrin et al. (2021) Methodologies and applications for resilient global development from the aspect of SDI-SOR. The clusters show the main and niche topics presented and, on the one hand, illustrate the European and international state of the art in the field of OR over the last five years and, on the other hand, can serve as a stimulus for further work on upcoming strategic OR topics.

Iskanje optimalnih gozdnogojitvenih strategij s pomočjo stohastičnega programiranjaLidija Zadnik Stirn, 1991, original scientific article Abstract: Optimalno gojenje in izkoriščanje gozda z namenom, da so izpolnjena vsa zahtevana načela gospodarjenja z gozdom, je predstavljeno kot večfazni stohastični proces. Kot pomoč pri optimalnem upravljanju tega procesa je prikazan stohastičen model, ki temelji na teoriji diskretnega stohastičnega programiranja. V ospredje so kot kriterij gospodarjenja z gozdom postavljeni le merljivi outputi iz gozda. Drugi učinki gozda v našem modelu niso upoštevani. Na osnovi tako definiranega kriterija gospodarjenja je optimalna strategija določena z iteracijskim postopkom, podobnim Bellmanovemu principu optimalnosti.

Uporaba rastnih funkcij v gozdarstvuAlojzij Vadnal, Marijan Kotar, Lidija Zadnik Stirn, Franc Gašperšič, 1983, original scientific article Abstract: Rastne funkcije so nepogrešljiv pripomoček pri sestavi donosnih tablic in postavitvi različnih modelov gospodarjenja. Rastna funkcija mora biti prilagodljiva,to pomeni, da mora kar se da najboljše ponazarjati dejansko rast sestojev, istočasno pa mora biti v takšni obliki, da vrednosti njenih parametrov neposredno podajajo karakteristične točke rasti sestoja in rastišča. V prispevku je podana tudi nova oblika rastne funkcije, ki dobro izpolnjuje pogoje, ki jih mora imeti tovrstna funkcija.
