The total length of the captured O. rochei specimen was 21.6 cm, the body weight 23.5 g. O. rochei is endemic to the Mediterranean Sea, but this species is extremely rare in the eastern part of the Mediterranean. It has been classified as “data deficient (DD)” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
