The study focuses on the analytical stage, using surveys, interviews, observations, and artistic research-based practices such as mapping historical contexts and community interactions to understand existing conditions, historical significance, cultural context, and community needs. It contrasts the urban design-based approach in Slovenia with engaged artistic practices in Croatia, revealing how different methods influence placemaking outcomes.
