Although the military occupied a quarter of the city, tourism expanded as the YPA ceded southern coastal areas for development. Despite occasional friction between military patrols and visitors, the garrison significantly boosted the local economy. Army personnel utilized city amenities, while quarterly swearing-in ceremonies drew thousands of visitors, substantially increasing domestic overnight stays. This unique synergy helped Pula become Croatia’s fifth-ranked tourist destination by the end of the period.</dc:description><dc:date>2026</dc:date><dc:date>2026-06-30 11:28:42</dc:date><dc:type>Delo ni kategorizirano</dc:type><dc:identifier>30632</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>UDK: 009</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>DOI: 10.19233/ASHS.2026.07</dc:identifier><dc:language>sl</dc:language><dc:rights>Imetniki avtorskih pravic na prispevkih so avtorji.
