This is the fi rst record of this species for the Slovenian part of the Adriatic Sea. Due to the fact that there are no wild populations in the Middle and North Adriatic and that remaining wild populations in the Southern Adriatic are scarce and small, the specimen is supposed to be an escapee from one of the mariculture facilities.
