Its morphological characteristics corresponded with the descriptions of the common stingray Dasyatis pastinaca (Linnaeus, 1758), however, the specimen observed was entirely white on the dorsal and ventral surfaces, including the tail, except for the tips of the spines. Furthermore, the iris of the specimen lacked pigmentation and exhibited an abnormal orange-yellow (xanthochromic) coloration.
