Data_Fu_et_al: This folder contains dataset (file type "csv") for for the interactions between spiders and firefly.

There are 3 dataset (csv) files
1. Spider_firefly_data_for_analyses_2024.csv
2. Bioluminescent signals.csv
3. Relative intensity.csv

------------------Spider_firefly_data_for_analyses_2024.csv----------------------

This csv file contains the data on the effects of the four treatments (S+F+: SFF; S+F–: SNFF; S–F+: FFO; S–F–: NSNF) on the number of firefly males that were ensnared to the webs of orb-weaving spiders

#Variable list for the csv file:
1. Trial_No: The number code for each trial
2. Treatment: The presence or absence of a spider in the web (S+ versus S–) and whether ensnared male fireflies were making female-type flash signals or not (F+ versus F–), thus four combinations (or treatments) of these two factors (SFF: S+F+; SNFF: S+F–: FFO: S–F+: NSNF: S–F–)
4. Treatments: alternative coding for four treatment groups listed in Treatment.
5. Treatments.1: alternative coding for four treatment groups listed in Treatment.
6. Year: The year when the trials were conducted.
7. Date: The date when the trials were conducted.
8. Temperature: The temperature measured when the trials were conducted.
9. RH: The relative humidity was measured during the trials.
10. Spider_BL: Body length in mm of the spider used in the trial.
11. Web_CA: Capture area of the web built by the spider used in the trial.
12. TTL: Total thread length of the web built by the spider used in the trial.
13. MH: Mesh height in mm of the web built by the spider used in the trial.
14. Web_height: The height in m of the web from the ground built by the spider used in the trial.
15: Veg_cover: The coverage (D: dense or O: open) of vegetation where the web was used in the trial.
16: No_attracted: The number of firefly males were approaching to each web during the 2-hour trial.
17: No_trapped: The number of firefly males were ensnared by each web during the 2-hour trial.
