Biotska pestrost gozdov v novejših mednarodnih in domačih pravnih dokumentih

Abstract: Članek obravnava naslednje mednarodne pravne akte in strate{ke dokumente s podro~ja biotske pestrosti: Konvencijo o biotski pestrosti, Konvencijo o varstvu Alp s Protokolom o gorskem gozdu, Agendo 21, Resolucije o varovanju gozdov v Evropi, Vseevropsko strategijo o biotski in krajinski pestrosti in njen delovni program, Strategijo EU o biotski pestrosti in Gozdarsko strategijo EU. Med doma~imi pravnimi akti ~lanek obravnava Zakon o varstvu okolja in Zakon o ohranjanju narave ter Zakon o gozdovih in Program razvoja gozdov v Sloveniji. Slovenska gozdarska zakonodaja in politika `e vsebujeta ve~ino mednarodno sprejetih na~el, priporo~il in zavez glede ohranjanja biotske pestrosti in trajnostne rabe njenih sestavin. Temeljne mednarodne zaveze, ki se {e ne uresni~ujejo, so naslednje: ugotavljanje in spremljanje biotske pestrosti gozdov z ocenjevanjem stanja na dr`avni ravni, ustanavljanjezavarovanih obmo~ij (naravnih parkov) ter zagotavljanje prora~unskih spodbud za uporabo okolju prijaznih tehnologij v gorskih obmo~jih, vklju~no z nekaterimi stro`jimi dolo~bami Protokola o gorskem gozdu.Slovenska gozdarska politika na podro~ju biotske pestrosti je okvirno usklajena z najnovej{imi strate{kimi usmeritvami EU, doma~a gozdarska zakonodaja in zakonodaja s podro~ja ohranjanja narave pa nista ustrezno usklajeni.

Nekateri ekofiziološki kazalci stresa pri dobu (Quercus robur L.) v severovzhodni Sloveniji

Abstract: Opazno sušenje in fiziološko pešanje doba (Quercus robur L.) je posebno izrazito v Prekmurju v zadnjem desetletju zaradi sušnega podnebja, neugodne razporeditve padavin in možnih hidromelioracijskih ukrepov. Prispevek obravnava povezavo med vodnim stresom in kazalci vodnih razmer (višina podtalnice, padavine, vodostaji rek Mure in Ledave) ter drugimi kazalci stresa(vodni potencial, električna prevodnost kambijeve cone, osutost krošnje)v gozdnem kompleksu Murska šuma na skrajnem vzhodu Slovenije, kjer stabili izbrani dve ploskvi z različno poškodovanostjo dobovih dreves. Tam smo mesečno določali vodni potencial, električno prevodnost kambijeve cone in osutost krošnje. Meritve so pokazale zvezo med vodnim potencialom in gladino podtalnice, ki je bila na ploskvi z bolj prizadetimi dobovimi drevesi večja, kot na ploskvi z manjšo prizadetostjo. Vzporedno s terenskimi opazovanji je potekal lončni poskus v kontroliranih pogojih na petletnih dobovih sadikah, opravljen v avgustu. Točka začetnega zapiranja listnih rež je bila v intervalu med -0,5 in -0,7 MPa, nepovratno zapiranje pa je povzročil vodni potencial pod (bolj negativen) -1,62 MPa.

Light response of Fagus sylvatica L. and Abies alba Mill. in different categories of forest edge % Vertical abundance in two silvicultural systems

Abstract: In managed Dinaric montane fir (Abies alba Mill.) and European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) forests, the light response of young beech and fir in gap microsites was studied during three consecutive growing periods (2009, 2010, and 2011) under controlled environmental conditions in stands of single-tree and irregular shelterwood silvicultural system. According to maximal quantum yield, the different response between species in microsite light categories was evidenced for silver fir on microsites with predominating diffuse light and for beech on microsites with predominating direct light, respectively. Abundance and change of share in microsite light categories was compared over different elevation belts on comparable sites between two silvicultural systems. The share of forest edge area was bigger in the irregular shelterwood system. Change in width of forest edge (20, 30 and 40 m) did not affect the proportion and share of the microsite in both regions of different silvicultural system. Separation of microsite areas between both silvicultural systems, evident in lower elevation belts was not evident in the most conflict and highest elevation zone, while the absolute values of all categories above 700 m in both systems were almost identical, indicating the same, small-scale irregular shelterwood system, known also as the freestyle silvicultural approach.

Osmotic component of water potential and stress adaption of adult Pedunculate oaks (Quercus robur L.) in stands with different tree density

Abstract: Pressure volume curves were applied to define differences in stress adaptation between two managed forest complexes and virgin forest remnant; in Murska šuma, Krakovo forest and Krakovo old growth forest. Species response between adult stands after stronger thinning and comparable stand without any silvicultural measures within same forest complex was compared in two consecutive years, 2003 and 2004. Significant differences in osmotic potential (full turgor) component for plots in Murska šuma in 2003 as well as in Krakovo forest between managed forest and old growth-forest were confirmed. In all cases, values became more negative, indicating slight capability of oaks to adapt with increasing drought stress. Reaction/stress adaptation of forests after thinning indicated well adapted mechanism to address drought stress in spite of the age. We may connect such improved drought response with increased individual space for growth and lower stand density.
